The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) needs your help preparing for the first annual National Museum Survey (NMS) launching in early 2025! In addition to serving as the primary source of federal funding for museums and related cultural institutions in the United States, IMLS aims to empower the field through policy and research. The NMS will help your institution contextualize its work and will inform policymakers, the museum field, and the public by providing badly needed baseline statistics about the impact and reach of our nation’s museums, including: ? Botanical Gardens, Arboretums, and Nature Centers ? Zoos and Aquariums ? Science and Technology Centers/Museums and Planetariums? ? History Museums and Historic Sites? ? Art Museums? ? Children’s Museums? ? Natural History and Anthropology Museums? ? General and Specialized Museums? Please click the link below to provide your institution’s contact information and be sure that you are included in this important new survey! Note: If you’ve already completed the online form there is no need to complete it a second time. https://lnkd.in/g9FEH3zF More information about the NMS, including the pilot survey IMLS successfully ran in 2023, can be found at https://www.imls.gov/NMS. Email [email protected] with any questions you may have.

Stronger Museums for a Stronger California
关于我们
CAM’s vision is “Stronger Museums for a Stronger California”. Our role in realizing this vision is to unify and strengthen California museums to expand their collective impact. To support the success of California museums and their communities, our key programs and services include: professional development programs, including an annual conference and regional workshops that address best practices and trends; an electronic newsletter, CAM e-News, which is distributed every two weeks to thousands of subscribers; studies and reports; an active advocacy program that monitors legislation and spearheads strategic initiatives to support funding sources; and special initiatives that provide leadership in important issues affecting the field. Our institutional members are located in over 50 of the state’s 58 counties and range in size, scope, and discipline. They include historical societies, cultural centers, art museums, botanical gardens, science centers, tribal museums, zoos, aquariums, and children’s museums. We work collaboratively with many statewide and national partners to achieve shared goals, including the California Arts Council, California State Parks, the California Council for the Humanities, the California State Library, the California Preservation Program, Exhibit Envoy, the Western Museums Association, the American Association of Museums, and the Association for State and Local History.
