A total of 4.5 million Uzbek tourists traveled abroad in the first nine months of 2024, marking a growth of 35.8 percent (1.2 million persons) over the corresponding period in 2023. Data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan's statistics agency shows that Kyrgyzstan emerged as the top destination for Uzbek tourists, attracting 2.1 million visitors. Tajikistan followed in second place with 895,100 visitors, while Kazakhstan rounded out the top three with 719,900 tourists. Besides, 222,900 Uzbek tourists visited Russia, 180,900 - Türkiye, 121,900 - Saudi Arabia, 90,300 - UAE, 32,100 - Egypt, 20,000 - Kuwait, 17,500 - South Korea, and 128,200 - other countries. To note, in the first eight months of 2024, 4.06 million tourists departed from Uzbekistan, an increase of 37.2 percent, or 1.1 million persons, over the corresponding period in 2023. https://lnkd.in/dgmz8E5s

As Azerbaijan prepares to host COP29, Ruben Vardanyan’s legal team files lawsuits alleging multiple human rights violations. ??Ruben Vardanyan, detained in Azerbaijan for over a year, has filed four legal actions ahead of the UN’s COP29 summit in Baku. His lawsuits include claims of defamation by the state-run newspaper Baku Worker, torture during a hunger strike, and a violation of his right to a speedy trial, as he remains in pre-trial detention without a court date. ??Azerbaijan’s human rights record is increasingly under scrutiny. Vardanyan’s legal team also accuses authorities of obstructing his ability to file a defamation lawsuit by withholding necessary documentation. Mamigonian and Bedross Der Matossian, 6/6/2024,?https://lnkd.in/eYT-NHXd "As scholars focused on the Armenian Genocide ... and with Armenian Studies more generally, we feel compelled to express our concerns about aspects of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s April 24, 2024, message on the occasion of the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. .. "While we duly recognize that the message begins by stating the Prime Minister’s intention to “commemorate the memory of 1.5 million victims of the Armenian Genocide,” the aspects that are most concerning to us are the absence of any identification of the perpetrator of the Armenian Genocide; language that echoes long-standing denialist rhetoric implying that the victims of the Genocide were responsible for their deaths; and the implication that a collective post-genocidal “mental trauma” prevents Armenia or Armenians from perceiving reality. "It is important to note that Mr. Pashinyan’s message does not exist in a vacuum. It needs to be read within a larger context that includes the ethnic cleansing of all Armenians from Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh in September 2023 (called genocidal by?various analysts), following the 2020 44-Day War launched by Azerbaijan with the entire military and logistical support of Turkey, and the 2022-2023 illegal blockade of Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh imposed by Azerbaijan with, again, the support of Turkey. "In short, at no time in recent history has the Armenian government been in a position of greater powerlessness vis-à-vis Turkey and Azerbaijan, “one nation, two states” who aggressively deploy denial of the Armenian Genocide and of other historical facts about Armenia and the region as part of their political arsenal. When Turkey and Azerbaijan are seeking to dictate Armenia’s future, it is no less important to them to dictate the past as well. The Armenian Prime Minister and other government leaders cannot acquiesce to Turkey and Azerbaijan’s false historical narratives, which are aimed at the elimination of Armenia as such.?.. "If it is the belief at the highest levels of the government in Yerevan that the real threats posed by Turkey and Azerbaijan to Armenia’s existence can be diminished by incrementally incorporating aspects of denialist rhetoric (whether consciously, unconsciously, on under the pressure of third parties) into even an April 24 commemoration message, we assert that this is both incompatible with the historical record as well as short-sighted politically. We urge Mr. Pashinyan and all of Armenia’s leadership to be strong in upholding the fundamental historical facts of the Armenian Genocide and to resist any efforts to employ language that suggests the guilt of the victims rather than the responsibility of the perpetrators."

Recent satellite imagery has confirmed that Azeri authorities have completely destroyed the Holy Ascension Church of Berdzor, Artsakh. The systematic destruction of Armenian cultural heritage in Artsakh is a part of Azerbaijan's state-sponsored cultural genocide campaign aimed at eliminating all traces of indigenous Armenian presence and preventing their rightful return to their ancestral land. These actions must prompt UNESCO to immediately launch an initiative for preservation and safeguarding. #SaveArmenianHeritage

Workplace bullying, also referred to as mobbing, is systematic psychological pressure or humiliation brought about by superiors or colleagues. This occurrence stresses workers, reduces output, and damages their psychological and physical health. Although Azerbaijani legislation?does not directly include the phrase?“bullying”?the Labor Code and other legislative acts have measures intended to protect employees from such behavior. The Labor Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan,?Article 12 (Law?№?618-IQ, adopted on February 1, 1999) bans employment discrimination based on several criteria including gender, age, religion, nationality, etc. Bullying may be considered as a sort of discrimination especially if it targets an employee depending on these qualities.?Employer?is responsible?to set safe working conditions and apply regulations aimed to prevent any sort of violence in the workplace, including bullying. Article 23?of the Civil Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan?(Law?№?779-IQ, adopted on December 28, 1999) promises protection of dignity, respect, and commercial repute. Should workplace bullying compromise the honor or dignity of an employee, they might seek legal protection. The Criminal Code?(Law?№?787-IQ, adopted on December 30, 1999)?has various clauses pertaining to slander, insult, and extortion—blackmail—which would apply in circumstances of occupational bullying. Article 147 tackles slander by means of the spread of misleading information. Article 148 addresses insult, punishing public or blatantly degrading of a person's honor and dignity conduct. Under Azerbaijani law, Article 182 describes extortion—blackmail—as coercion involving threats to expose personal information or cause damage, a criminal violation. These pieces taken together offer justification for handling psychological pressure and personal threats in the workplace or elsewhere. The??legislation of the Republic of??Azerbaijan?provides the right to respect for human dignity, which one may employ to guard against psychological violence in the workplace—including bullying, therefore insulating circumstances of bullying targeted at employees. ?? How Should Workplace Bullying Cross Your Path Demand You to Act? To have evidence, record every bullying incident with dates, times, and details.?If?colleagues or superiors harass you, contact HR either directly with management or via the HR department.?Should management overlook action, you can contact the State Labour Inspectorate, which keeps an eye on worker rights. You are entitled to seek court protection and compensation should bullying cause significant moral or physical damage. Workplace bullying is a serious issue invading employee rights and compromising their health. Their synergy and unity were just as important as their individual skills. This deeper layer adds a whole new dimension to their story, highlighting the power of collaboration and shared vision. This T-shirt wearing hands in pockets couple is a great story everyone is missing. As founders, we often scratch the surface of our own story. Lemkin Institute Slams Aliyev & COP29, Labels Azerbaijani Actions In Artsakh As “Illegal” & “Genocidal’; Criticizes COP29 Participants’ Silence & Complicity ??? The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention denounced Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s speech at COP-29 UN climate summit in Baku, describing Azerbaijan’s actions as infringing on “ancient indigenous Armenian territory” and blasting its participants for their silence over the genocide against Artsakh’s (Nagorno-Karabakh) indigenous Armenian population in 2023. The Institute, known for its advocacy against genocide worldwide, criticized Azerbaijan’s leadership role at the summit and highlighted severe concerns about its treatment of Armenians and the implications of international complicity. In a tweet, the Institute stated that “restoring” Azerbaijani sovereignty over these areas “through genocide is NOT justice under international law” and emphasized that such actions are “not even LEGAL under international law.” On November 11, the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention made two posts on X (formerly Twitter). The posts read as follows: First Post: “As an ‘independent NGO,’ we must respond to President Aliyev. ‘Restoring’ Azerbaijani sovereignty over an ancient indigenous Armenian territory through genocide is NOT justice under international law. It’s not even LEGAL under international law. Azerbaijan did not act alone—without Israeli military aid and the complicity and blessing of the US State Department, this would not have been possible. To those still sitting at #COP29, shame on you for your silence.” Second Post: “Today the ICJ confirmed that the Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) applies to Azerbaijan’s treatment of Armenians. After a year of warnings and calls to action, the world went ahead and allowed Azerbaijan to host COP29. this documentary illustrates the experiences of menstruation among rural woman in their own languages. Rural women, due to their gender, marginalized status, lack of access to educational and health facilities, transportation difficulties, and limited access to mass media, experience compounded injustice due to gender and existing inequalities. They have had no access to information sources in the past or present and have not benefited from new communication-information technologies. Rural women lack the necessary and sufficient information about menstruation, which is the everyday reality of their lives. In addition to incorrect cultural beliefs and norms, rural women navigate in a space devoid of facilities. Lack of access to sanitary pads, water scarcity, absence of clinics, unawareness of menstrual health, doctors’ unfamiliarity with women’s diseases, and poverty are among the challenges rural women face.
