This year's annual Environmental Sustainability training will be held Friday, July 12. We have decided that the annual training will be used as a refresher for the longer training we conducted last year. Training will be a one-time requirement for all employees, with this annual refresher to review important material and potential updates. On June 19th we celebrate the Emancipation Proclamation and the ending of all slavery in the United States of America. At Westfall Technik we firmly embrace the Declaration of Independence for all. These words will always ring true: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Bernard Cigrand, a small-town Wisconsin teacher originated the idea for an annual flag day in 1885, to be celebrated across the country every June 14. In that year, he led his school in the first formal observance of the holiday. Cigrand continued to promote his concept and advocate respect for the flag throughout his life. Thank you, Bernard Cigrand, for giving us at Westfall Technik and all of America, this day to celebrate Old Glory.
