Thank you everyone for the work anniversary shout-outs. It's hard to believe I've been with UT and in the title industry for 18 years. What an incredible journey thus far working with my dad and sister, an amazing team of people around me, and our wonderful clients and partners. I can't wait to see what is in store for the next 18! It has been fun to reflect on some of the things that have changed over the last 18 years...other than our logo and my haircut. :). How it Started/How It's Going: * all settlement files contained about 400 pieces of paper/Completely paperless * we used fax machines and typewriters/most communication is digital. * checks were hand-delivered for EMDs and proceeds/most EMDs are deposited digitally and proceeds are mostly wires. * Everyone (and I mean everyone) came to closing at our office at the same time/many closings are remote, some use RON, and sellers and buyers rarely close together. * we had 1 office in Annandale, VA and 7 employees/We are now 26 offices across 6 states with 150+ employees. * suit, tie, and dress shoes every day/hoodies and sneakers make up a lot of my wardrobe. * I personally conducted 30-40 closings a month/our awesome team closes 30-40 a day sometimes * I was engaged with 2 dogs/I have an amazing wife, 2 awesome kids, and still have 2 dogs * I was the "other" David Mason/I'm still the other David Mason for those of you who have been around long enough. ??
