?? Everyone can test, but everyone tests differently... The result is always different. A problem? ?? I've often sat down with colleagues from development and discussed software testing. They would say to me: "We test our code ourselves, why do we still need QA?" – A classic line many developers have probably thought at some point. But here's the catch. ???? Developers are brilliant at solving problems and writing software – that's undeniable. But when it comes to testing, there's a crucial difference: developers test to prove that the code works. QA, on the other hand, tests to find out where the code doesn't work. ?? Imagine you're building a huge tower out of building blocks. As a developer, you're proud to check if the top layer is perfectly placed. But the QA? They shake the foundation, check if the middle layers are stable, and test how the tower reacts if it's tilted. ?? Developers often have a close bond with their code. They know how it's supposed to work and test accordingly. QA, on the other hand, approaches it with a completely different mentality – they think of scenarios that a developer might not even have in mind. ?? That's why it's so important to keep the two roles separate. In the end, QA ensures that the software is robust and ready for the real-world challenges out there – and not just functional on paper, but still as a Team! So, the next time you hear, "I can test this myself," remember the tower of building blocks. Sometimes, you need someone to shake it. ?? ? Does your team or company see it the same way?
