As we celebrate our fifth anniversary, we asked a few of our college graduates about their time as a Promise scholar. To Samantha Harris, being a Promise scholar meant feeling supported and worry-free. With her tuition assistance, Harris only had to focus on her education, not her finances. Last month, we said hello to our LARGEST internship cohort! Each month, our Promise interns gather for a professional development day, where we work with them on their resume, interview skills and workplace skills. Thank you SO MUCH to our current employer partners for believing in the next generation and helping us provide these valuable internships to our students. Yesterday, Promise staff met with the City of Birmingham Department of Youth Services to learn more about what our city is doing to invest in the next generation and to share our mission of making postsecondary education a reality for students.
