Microgifting: explained
?? What’s a microgift?
A microgift is a small treat – think a coffee, cake or cinema ticket – that can be created and shared online to incentivise, reward or engage customers, colleagues and clients.
?? Isn’t that just the same as a gift voucher?
Nope. Microgifts stand out from the voucher crowd for a few reasons:
They empower ??
Unlike a gift voucher, a microgift can be created in an instant using our platform then shared anywhere you can share a link. This flexibility enables companies to create their own customer rewards, incentives and treats, then share them wherever they need to. Think live chat, social media broadcasts, DMs and WhatsApp, as well as traditional means such as email or SMS. Having direct access to a platform empowers clients to be reactive to their customers’ needs, achieving better results and brand loyalty.
They’re reusable ??
Once you share a gift voucher and it goes unused or expires, the money you’ve spent is wasted. At Huggg, we know how frustrating this can be, so recover any funds from unused microgifts and put them back into your account to spend on more incentives to help reach your objectives. It’s digital sustainability. Kind of.
They’re human ??
Giving someone £3 for a coffee is weird. Sending them a coffee to collect at their convenience? Heartwarming. By turning away from your average incentives – points, vouchers and discount codes – and adding an emotive layer, we enable companies to break down budgets into smaller chunks, keeping costs low, touchpoints high and customers happier than ever before.
They’re curated ??
We care about who we work with. Our supply base is (and always will be) cherry-picked ?? by our partnerships managers who are passionate about customer experience. Microgifts might be small and low cost, but they are always high quality and impactful.
?? What kind of microgifts do we offer?
Lots of stuff, including:
- Coffee at Caffè Nero
- Coffee at an independent
- Odeon cinema tickets
- Lola’s Cupcakes… and brownies
- Change Please coffee ?? (not for profit)
- Crosstown Doughnuts
- Boost Juice
- Barburrito
- Isle of Flowers
- Gelato at Snowflake…
… with some exciting brand partnerships soon to be announced. Keep your eyes ?? on socials @huggg_uk to be the first to hear.
?? What does a microgift look like?
Microgifts are just links, so they look like your average URL. Until you work your magic ? on them.
From email, we suggest hyperlinking a microgift from an image or line of text (“Click here for coffee on me!”). For everywhere else – Facebook, Whatsapp, live chat or Slack, you just paste the link and share. When the recipient clicks the link, they’ll see the relevant realmoji, so they know what microgift they’ve got, along with your message, so they know who it’s from.
?? Did I make the word ‘microgift’ up?
Of course. You know I love to do that. We’ve disrupted the gifting industry, so thought why not go the whole hog ?? and create our own category, too?
?? Sounds cool. How do I get started?
In order to access microgifts, you’ll need to create a biz account ?? with us. Once we’ve sent your details, you’ll be able to log into the platform and create microgifts to use in campaigns and comms.
