We are thrilled to welcome our School-Based MSW interns to Canvas Health. We have five interns that will be working in our schools this year as they finish their masters program. The interns will learn from and work with the therapists in the buildings in which they are placed. We are excited for their clinical growth, their learning about our school-based model and for all the students they will be able to support this year! Celebrating 50 years of providing hope, healing, and recovery to the people we serve.
关于我们
Canvas Health is dedicated to offering hope and help to children, adolescents, adults, the elderly and families who struggle with aging, transportation, chemical and mental health, and domestic and sexual abuse. Initially established as a community mental health center in 1969, Canvas Health has grown to become one of the most distinctive private nonprofit human service centers in Minnesota. We are community-driven and believe that the vitality and stability of our communities rests on the strength of the individuals and families within them. When those with life impairments are helped to live more freely, we are all lifted up. When we help families and individuals recover from mental illness, chemical dependency, physical and sexual abuse, the world becomes a better place for us all. When we help seniors to live independently and troubled children to remain at home and in school, we help restore the fabric of family and community life.

Canvas Health was proud to be a part of the All Things Grief professional development conference hosted by Brighter Days Family Grief Center. In addition to talking with participants at our resource table, our CEO, Khu Thao, MSW, PsyD, LP, LICSW shared her thoughts, professional expertise, and personal experience on the Grief and Culture Panel.
What a day! All Things Grief professional development conference was all we hoped it to be and more. We are so grateful to everyone who attended including our wonderful volunteers, exhibitors and presenters. It was clear that this kind of platform for education, self-care, and networking is so deeply needed within this field. The feedback has been simply phenomenal and the recommendations for workshop topics and speakers for next year were fantastic! Many thanks to Megan Devine for sharing her wisdom and humor, Bryan Piatt and Kelly Grosklags LICSW, BCD, FAAGC, FT for leading us with their incredible documentary, “Dying is Not Giving Up” and to our inspiring grief and culture panelists for authentically sharing their knowledge and personal experiences: Ricardo Johnson II Khu Thao, MSW, PsyD, LP, LICSW Shradha Singh and Maria Marino Tatzmann. We are so very grateful to everyone for helping make this day so meaningful and we can’t wait to see you all again next year. ?? The presenting sponsorship opportunity will open early 2025; please reach out to be notified.

Ann Nitti and Crysta Haines our the two Fabulous Program Coordinators in our TAP School Based Program. Over the last year the TAP program saw 947 clients. Ann and Crysta work behind the scenes to help make sure we get all of our paperwork done, clients insurance is entered and accurate, and we are able to report to all of our grant funders and community partners about the great work that we are doing. These amazing individuals help all of our staff in the community feel connected and supported by Canvas Health and without them our therapists couldn’t do the beautiful work that they do. They are key to the success of our program and we are grateful for their work. (Ann & Crysta pictured with Carolyn Felty, school-based mental health manager)

Our Shared Services Team participated in this spring's clinic beautification project at our Oakdale clinic. They planted nearly 150 perennials and shrubs by the gym area, the front entrance, and along the sidewalk. The results are lovely! We're proud to help make our spaces even more comfortable and healing for our staff and clients!
