The Thanksgiving travel period is almost here! ?? Remember: Passengers should arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before departure time! The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) expects approximately 90,000 people to pass through the checkpoint at Memphis International Airport (MEM) during the Thanksgiving travel period, which will take place from November 22–December 2. Flying with some family favorite Thanksgiving foods next week? Be sure to know what should be in your checked baggage, and what can go in your carry on luggage. ?? Here’s some food for thought: If it’s a solid item, then it can go through a checkpoint. However, if you can spill it, spread it, spray it, pump it or pour it, and it’s larger than 3.4 ounces, then it should go in a checked bag. MEM's Director of Governmental Relations & Business Diversity Development, Michael Fulton, is an ambassador for the American Cancer Society's 2024 Men Wear Pink of Memphis campaign. The campaign aims to raise money through the American Cancer Society to help fund breast cancer research. ?? Fulton said, "Breast cancer affects everyone - it doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman. That's why I'm stepping up to fight breast cancer with all I have. Since I'm in a position to make a difference within my community, I believe I have an obligation to do so.
