Bernie Madoff ran a Ponzi scheme. DEI has one too. You heard of this? It’s pretty slick. First it was "Run unconscious bias training” Then it was “Say how passionate you are” After that it was “Become multi award winning” And suddenly you're an industry leader. They get others to repeat the process. The people at the top get paid. When the music stops. The newbies are holding the bag. And the worst part? The people selling it. They’ve got: - No measurable results - No lasting change - No accountability But they will attack anyone who asks:? “Is this actually working?” They have acolytes waiting to cancel you. Now they want to rename DEI. New name.Same game. And here’s the uncomfortable truth: Real inclusion work. It's not Flags, Food & Fun. It’s not flashy.? It’s not performative.? It’s not designed to win popularity contests. It’s systems. It’s evidence. It’s boring repetitive work. Here’s the good news: You don’t have to play the game.? You don’t have to follow the script.? You don’t have to join the scheme. You can build something real.? Something that works.? Something that lasts. And when you do? You won’t need awards to prove it. I’m cheering you on. And if you need backup? Message me “Inclusion”. I’ll know what it means.

"It is boring repetitive work" people dont want to be bored or follow small, difficult, incremental results that are measures of inclusion. Where is the photo op?
Excellent.
Have you read Woke Racism? I feel like you would vibe with that book.
Dr. Jonathan Ashong-Lamptey - this is post is my favourite of the year so far ??????
DEI used effectively an with the support of the implementing organisation has lasting effects and is a benefit.
When you say you "know what it means" - you truly do. I can't think of anyone who has given this more thought and analysis than you. We all have so much to learn from you Dr. Jonathan Ashong-Lamptey
It's a big stretch to go from "Diversity leads to better outcomes" to "This workshop about standing on boxes will create better outcomes".
Sharp and spot on Dr. Jonathan Ashong-Lamptey and needed to be said. Misnaming work has brought issues. I really think alot organisations, practitioners and advocates have not been aware of factors contributing to some rightful critique of superficiality. Like still talk about the unproven business cases and not focus on ways to anchor culture development & inclusive behaviours, processes and revised systems. Charlotte Sweeney OBE you know this all too well. And Amri B. Johnson yes it became a financial exploit as everything in this world. This is truly the worst.
