When Jeffrey F Rayport and I did the first class on Managing in the Marketspace, we used to say, "Whoever is first in the demand chain, wins!" Google and Facebook and Amazon have proven that for sure. Historically the telcos have ceded their first in the demand chain position to Google et al. This Perplexity announcement may put DT back in the front of the line, depending on what type of deal the cut with Perplexity.
