Over the next six months, George will provide monthly mentoring sessions, offering guidance, insight, and valuable industry knowledge to support their development. George was with our business long before I arrived, and even though he'd left for a life overseas by then, I heard so many great things about him! The best one I ever got was "Tell your kids you worked with George Bowskill." I'm proud to say I can do that one day! I love sharing stories of the old days, and at 40 this year, with so much talent coming through, I'm realizing our new entrants will have even better ideas than my generation—that's the beauty of mentoring! It's not just about passing on skills and knowledge, but also about fresh perspectives. Employment and Skills Manger - BDC Growth and Economic Prosperity

The Skills Bootcamp delivered by EqualEngineers at the The Bridge Skills Hub was the first programme Bassetlaw District Council has supported as part of our push towards higher skills and providing a pipeline of candidates to the businesses in the district where skills gaps are common. A programmed in isolation is never truly works without (i) an experienced training provider, (ii) committed candidates, (iii) supportive employers, and (iv) robust mentoring. I'm delighted to see this programme had all four with Wright Engineering and the engagement to authority did with our employer partners, along with the amazing support we received from stakeholders Dave W. and David Horner from the DWP and Patrick Murray Whitham and Fayon Dixon at EqualEngineers provided the foundations. We hope the pilot continues to be a great success moving people into good paying jobs in shortage areas and we can work with East Midlands Combined County Authority to offer more Skills Bootcamps across a range of shortage sectors.
