Davos AI conversations in a nutshell: Many companies puffing away, regulators waving "No Smoking" signs, and the rest flipping through "AI Future" magazines, pretending to know what's going on. ??♀? #AI #Davos #irony
Fascinating analysis Hossein, and a bit surprising. I am sure there are many reasons behind what you observed. I am no expert but work with many B2B clients that focus on AI or are embarking on AI projects. Here is what I have been noticing. The adoption and integration of AI into a business requires long-term strategic commitment and a clear roadmap. However, most companies are affected by "shotermism": investors breathing on the necks of executives demanding growth, which leads inevitably to companies racing to meet quarterly targets and focus on short-term wins and tactics rather than embarking on transformative AI journeys. The pressure to show performance is also the reason why most AI projects focus on efficiency and productivity. I also personally don't think AI is well understood among EC teams and at the board level. When you add it all up, the combination of short-term pressures, the regulatory hatchet, lack of knowledge, and risk aversion create paralysis. Hype over substance would seem to be the natural outcome. This reminds me of the early days of the Internet.
Have you ever considered perhaps you’re in the wrong rooms?
Is this not the same as Bitcoin / Crypto? Yet it could become a reserve asset at Treasury! Life in ????
Hossein Rahnama Thanks for sharing. Would be good to see you back in Toronto.
Insightful
Interesting … not surprising
Hossein Rahnama …indeed. Ironic that all sorts of declarations will be made that will be taken as guidance for the current—very uncertain—-state of affairs. Unfortunately theres no lack of self-proclaiming “AI Evangelists”…spinning opinions…(what a term!)
But ChatGPT says I’m a thought leader ;) ??
LOL -- insightful, Tom -- as usual!

1 个月Absolutely nailed it, Hossein! Nothing like a room full of self proclaimed ‘AI thought leaders’ vigorously nodding at buzzwords, while maybe, just maybe, a handful actually know the difference between a neural network and a fishing net. I was starting to think I was the only one watching the Emperor strut around in his AI-generated ‘new clothes’. It was a delight to reconnect with you. Keep on saying it as it is ??
