We love having the world's best passport! "In 2014, a US passport was most powerful. Now it’s Singapore’s. This year, American passport holders can enter 186 countries and territories without a visa. For Singapore it’s 195". It all helps me visit countries around the world to watch metal concerts and do business seamlessly! What do you think? The Singapore passport is certainly a great travel companion (and a lovely, bright colour); however, I doubt there is much _real_ envy among Americans. The additional countries that Singaporeans can enter visa-free seem like they fall into two categories: (1) countries like Indonesia where Americans can obtain a visa on arrival, a process that could easily be streamlined with an APAC Travel Card if visits were frequent enough; or (2) countries like Iran which are sure to be incredible, but unlikely atop the list of destinations for travellers looking for metal concerts or beach holidays. Places Singaporeans can visit-visa free, but that benefit is not available to Americans: Belarus Benin Burkina Faso Cambodia China Cuba Djibouti Gabon Gambia Ghana Guinea Indonesia Iran Ivory Coast Laos Myanmar Rwanda Sri Lanka Tanzania Timor-Leste Uganda Uzbekistan Vietnam Zimbabwe Places Americans can visit-visa free, but that benefit is not available to Singaporeans: Ukraine Falkland Islands Marshall Islands Palau S?o Tomé and Príncipe

I wonder whether the true power of a passport is not in the number of countries it will gain one visa free entry to, but rather the clout its issuing nation's government can bring to bear should one of its citizens find themselves in trouble (especially the unwarranted sort) in a foreign country? Surely, that is the true test? If that were the benchmark, I suspect the list would look rather different.

I completely agree. The true value of a Singapore passport becomes especially evident when traveling to far-flung destinations like the Middle East, Africa, and South America. Immigration officers in these regions are often genuinely welcoming when processing a Singapore passport, setting the tone for friendly and positive interactions right from the start. It’s a privilege that enhances the overall travel experience, making every journey even more memorable.

Only for holidays…. Can’t go places to find work. Loads of people come here to apply for jobs with a tourist pass….

What number is British ?

It isn’t the best because it doesn’t allow other passports. The most powerful is a combination of 2 or 3

Woohoo! Traveling for metal concerts sounds epic with that passport power. Singapore truly leads the way in global connectivity! Chris J Reed

Agree. It’s the best. Singapore is ahead of the rest in so many ways. Even its honours system is way ahead of the UK and US for example!
