As COO of Tarkenton Companies, I know the holidays can be a joyful yet tricky time for organizations navigating diverse traditions and perspectives. A “holiday celebration” might feel inclusive to some, but it can also highlight cultural gaps for others. Jacky Cohen, VP of People and Culture at Topia, shares some excellent practices to ensure the season fosters celebration for everyone: ? Look through a global lens—embrace cultural diversity and think beyond local traditions. ? Build diversity through hiring practices—expand your talent pool and break location barriers. ? Solicit feedback—ask your team what they want to see in celebrations. Inclusion starts with listening. ? Weave inclusion into performance—ensure collaboration, empathy, and listening are valued behaviors. ? Scale intentionally—cultural values must grow with your company, not get left behind. Holiday celebrations are more than parties—they’re an opportunity to reinforce inclusion and build a culture where everyone belongs, setting the tone for the year ahead. Let’s make the season meaningful for all. Hear more from Jacky Cohen on holiday inclusion here: https://lnkd.in/eMPap7gQ

Every year, I have the pleasure of chairing our Talent Days, bringing together our Talent teams from across our global offices. This year, Munich was the perfect setting to connect and align on our shared ambitions to remain a front-runner in HR and Talent practices. Together, we tackled a tangible and impactful agenda, including: ? Talent intelligence — harnessing real-time data analytics to optimise talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies. ? Advanced psychometric tools — leveraging behavioural insights to enhance team performance and strengthen leadership development. ? CSRD compliance — preparing to meet sustainability reporting standards and fostering a responsible business environment. ? Dynamic career pathways — implementing personalised development plans that align employee growth with organisational ambitions. ? Next-Gen learning — introducing cutting-edge digital solutions for continuous learning and upskilling. ? Gender pay equity — taking concrete actions and tracking progress towards closing the gender pay gap. ? Workload optimisation — implementing strategies that balance productivity with employee well-being, maximising engagement and happiness. ? Gen Z advisory board — engaging young talent to shape our future initiatives and ensure we’re tapping into the next generation’s insights. ? And so much more…! These meetings aren’t just about setting direction and aligning on goals — they’re about inspiring each other, sharing best practices, and supporting the long-term success of our team members. But they’re also about building strong connections, creating lasting memories, and reinforcing one of our core values: having FUN (our "We Are Easyfairs" karaoke moment?? — choreography included — is probably the best evidence... though it’s safe to say we won’t be auditioning for Dancing with the Stars anytime soon!). After last year’s UK edition, we’ve now turned Germany’s Oktoberfest into our very own Talent Fest ??, and we’re already looking forward to taking the 2025 Talent Days to sunny Spain! ???? A huge thank you to our hosts, Katja Wallenta and Maren Streit, as well as our amazing Talent team from across the regions for their invaluable contributions, active participation, and high spirits Andrea Alanis Meryem Aboulkassimi Machi?l De Cock Audrey Vermeulen Martens Marie Eefje Voorrips- Schilders Saar Sint Nicolaas Sanne van der Stelt Richard Ainsworth María de Pablo Let's keep pushing boundaries together ??! #WeAreEasyfairs #HR #Talent #Leadership #EmployeeEngagement #TeamBuilding #WorkCulture

Happy Fourth of July everyone! ?????? As we celebrate this special day, it's important to reflect on the significance of our country's independence and the values it represents. But as HR professionals, let's also take a moment to appreciate how the principles of human resources align with the spirit of this holiday. One of the core tenets of the Fourth of July is freedom. It's the freedom to pursue happiness, express ourselves, and make choices that shape our lives. Similarly, in HR, we strive to create an environment where employees feel empowered, supported, and free to be their authentic selves. In the same way that our nation's founders sought to ensure liberty and justice for all, HR plays a critical role in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within our organizations. We are tasked with building workplaces that embrace different perspectives, cultures, and backgrounds. Just like the fireworks lighting up the sky tonight, diversity sparks creativity and innovation. Independence Day also serves as a reminder of the importance of collaboration and teamwork. Our country's success was only possible because individuals came together, setting aside their differences for a common goal. Similarly, HR professionals work towards fostering a culture of collaboration, breaking down silos, and promoting effective communication among teams. Moreover, the Fourth of July is a time to appreciate the hard work and dedication that has gone into building our nation. As HR professionals, we understand the value of recognizing and rewarding the efforts of our employees. It's about creating a culture of appreciation and celebrating the achievements, big and small, of our talented workforce. Finally, let's not forget the importance of work-life balance. While it's crucial to give our best at work, it's equally important to take time off to recharge, spend quality time with loved ones, and engage in activities that bring us joy. Just like the Fourth of July is a day of celebration and relaxation, HR should strive to support employees in finding that perfect equilibrium between their personal and professional lives. So, as we come together to enjoy barbecues, parades, and fireworks, let's also remember the connection between our roles in HR and the spirit of Independence Day. Let's continue fostering inclusive and collaborative workplaces, recognizing and appreciating the efforts of our employees, and promoting a healthy work-life balance. Have a safe and happy Fourth of July! ?????? #HR4thofJuly #IndependenceDay #CreatingHappyWorkplaces

GIVE ME A BREAK!!?? Who here is tired of new months and days for different groups? ??♂? It seems like every year, there’s a new “X” day for “X” group. Are we overdoing it, OR are we missing the point entirely? ?? Here’s the deal: it’s not about just adding days and months to the calendar—it’s about what those days represent and how we, as leaders, use them to drive meaningful impact. Your corporate calendar is more than just a scheduling tool. It’s a statement about what your company values and the kind of culture you’re building. Recognizing diverse holidays and observances isn’t about checking boxes; it’s about creating spaces where every employee feels seen, valued, and included. In my latest Channel Futures blog, I unpack how organizations can rethink their 2025 holiday calendars with purpose and intention. Instead of adding just for the sake of adding, let’s: 1?? Celebrate diversity thoughtfully—ensure everyone sees themselves reflected. 2?? Provide flexibility—empower employees to honor what matters most to them. 3?? Use holidays as moments to connect and build understanding across teams. Acknowledging cultural celebrations isn’t just about the people directly in your office; it’s about fostering an environment that values inclusivity and empathy. ?? Read the full blog here: https://lnkd.in/eDWN63J2 ?? What do YOU think? Are we adding too much to the calendar, or is this the evolution we need? Let’s get real—drop your thoughts below! ??
