My Future Today Institute colleague Sam Jordan and I published a new paper explaining how the convergence of three general-purpose technologies will result in a powerful new force we call living intelligence. #Livingintelligence is composed of overlapping strands of #AI, #biotechnology and advanced #sensors, and as they converge a fundamental economic and societal shift will result. Businesses and governments are not ready for what's on the horizon -- and we hope this paper will enable them to prepare for a great transition that is already underway. Wow, wow, wow this whole document is mind-blowing! Far out! The concept of living intelligence is especially striking—an unprecedented force of change. The fact that power demand is up by 160% is concerning, though it really highlights the urgency for innovation in energy efficiency. And bioprinting? Absolutely fascinating! The idea of cross-pollination of technologies is incredibly exciting and opens up so many possibilities for transformative advancements. Definitely can’t sit on your laurels—strategic thinking is required to stay ahead in this rapidly evolving landscape. Thank you....
This sounds like a fascinating exploration of living intelligence and its implications! It’s crucial for both businesses and governments to stay ahead of these technological shifts. What do you think will be the biggest challenge in adapting to this convergence?
Living Intelligence is not just a technological revolution; it’s a call to action for responsible innovation. By aligning technology with human values, we can shape a future where progress serves society as a whole. #AIgovernance
Really appreciate this forward-looking analysis on the convergence of AI, biotech and advanced sensors. Two areas really stood out for me: 1) the paper effectively highlights potential new data sources to fuel next-generation AI models, particularly through the exponential volume that could come from ubiquitous sensors. 2) the discussion of alternative computing architectures is intriguing. Beyond efficiency and privacy gains, I'm hopeful this evolution will lead to more sustainable AI with reduced power consumption and carbon footprint compared to current approaches. Such alternatives may be the key to developing AI systems that are not just more capable, but also more environmentally responsible. Thanks for sharing Amy!
At Snackshop - where we’re creating bite-sized entertainment - we refer to the future of media as Living Stories. Agree it will be powered by Living Intelligece! :) ??
Я так и не понял, есть ли связь между ростом продуктивности в экономики и предметом статьи.
This a deep analysis. Thanks for mentionning our work in biocomputing, I believe living processors may actually become a new industry .
Well done! Interesting reading for all “Foresight-seekers”. Just the literature list is already highly impressive and a good starting point for those entering this field!
Thank you for sharing.
Associate Senior Systems Analyst.. I am developing a new vision (Object Oriented Transformation) = merging (Nature & Technology). (Real World & Virtual World)
1 个月Yes, this is an important vision, and it will have major impacts in the future, and it carries great and unconventional opportunities, and perhaps (organisms) will be the medium that will bring together the trio (artificial intelligence, sensing, and biological engineering) because it can simply bring together this trio of convergences. Artificial intelligence is the simulation of living organisms. Sensing is the connection of organisms in our environment with digital technology. Finally, biological engineering is the simulation and representation of the manufacturing power that organisms in nature enjoy. #ObjectOrientedTransformation #ObjectOrientedCommunication #ObjectOrientedManagement #ObjectOrientedStrategy #Livingintelligence #AI #biotechnology
