During Naganand Doraswamy's conversation from a month ago with Vilva Natarajan (founder of Karomi Technology Private Limited, one of our portfolio companies), what emerged was that within our portfolio itself of 30+ companies, founders could share what has worked well and not worked well from a #marketing standpoint. This led to a lot of interest within our founder group and what emerged was that an internal #workshop would provide a good setting to share, discuss, learn and operationalise what each company has done and can do from a marketing standpoint. We conducted this workshop at our office yesterday and our startups came together to share strategies that have fuelled their growth journeys. Here’s a glimpse into the insights that left us inspired: ?? Content as a Catalyst: Startups emphasized the power of thought leadership, using whitepapers, case studies, and organic content to translate unique use cases into impactful narratives. The focus on authentic storytelling has helped brands build trust and engage audiences effectively ?? The ABM Advantage: Account-Based Marketing stood out as a game-changer for high-value clients. From personalized problem statements to multi-channel outreach, startups are building deeper, more meaningful connections ?? The Human Touch in Networking: Trade shows and in-person engagements reminded us of the power of human connections. Startups shared how creative pre-event strategies and face-to-face interactions yielded insights and strengthened brand recall ?? Precision in Outbound & SEO: Consistent content updates and a personalized approach to outbound marketing have driven meaningful results. Some companies saw organic traffic surge exponentially through well-crafted strategies ?? Simplifying Tech for Non-Tech Buyers: Startups are tackling adoption barriers head-on, using ROI calculators and tailored case studies to help customers realize the value of their solutions The energy and insights from the workshop reaffirmed that innovation in marketing is not just about strategy—it's about heart, resilience, and listening closely to your customers. It was a fantastic workshop with lots of learning from other amazing founders. We made a lot of notes and it has sparked a huge change and shift in our plans and strategy for 2025. We look forward to more workshops.
