Sometimes, procrastination can cost you more than just time - It can cost you opportunities. Back in 2004, I was appointed as a sales officer in Bhopal, the beautiful capital city of Madhya Pradesh. During my tenure, I faced a decision that required prompt action. Unfortunately, my desire for perfection and excessive attention to detail led me to delay. That delay cost me my role in Bhopal, I was no longer in charge of the capital. That experience taught me a critical lesson about leadership, the importance of timely decision-making. While planning and detailing are undoubtedly important, it’s crucial to adhere to timelines. There’s a fine line between thorough preparation and procrastination. An idea, no matter how great, is just a thought without execution. Over the years, especially on my entrepreneurship journey, I've learned to balance caution with courage. Although decision-making can still be daunting, I now take calculated risks when my intuition tells me it's right. Remember, allowing decisions to paralyse you only leads to missed opportunities. Even if things don’t always turn out as planned, each decision is a stepping stone, a lesson learned. So, take that step, make that decision. Fear and failure are just parts of the journey.
