?? I recently was reflecting on a past experience with a summer intern where I learned valuable lessons: 1. Just because someone has a pedigree on their resume, does not mean they already have the skillset for the role (which is totally ok!). 2. Just because someone does not have the skillset, does not mean they cannot learn it. Evaluate for potential / ability to learn. 3. Its important to baseline what information is needed for a person to excel in their role, and then ensure it is taught to them! Long before working on Camino, I worked with a computer science intern who had completed a summer internship the prior year at Google. This intern was super smart. Working with them early on, I realized they had some gaps in knowledge which they would need to fill in order to be successful as an intern at our company. I had incorrectly made assumptions based on their experience as a CS major and an intern at google. I spent a few days working with them, and those gaps were quickly filled. I learned a lot through that experience - most importantly, if you hire people who know how to learn, AND provide them with intentional guidance, you will build a strong workforce. #Internship #LearningExperience #SkillDevelopment #onboarding

When I was in college, I loved interning at places where I could learn a lot. I remember my early internships had a fair mix of cold calling/messaging, sales of some sort (extension to the cold outreach), programs where I was organising something as a campus ambassador All of those things definitely had a learning curve. However, when I joined corporate I realised no one teaches you new stuff - you kind of pick it up on your own and the proportion to how many new things you learn is inversely proportional to the time spent in that org I want to experiment a new type of internship. It'll be a mix of great skills you will require at corporate, I'll spend time coaching you on weekends and you'll learn how to jugaad your way through things if doing your own thing is a dream down the years. It's a paid internship. We'll pay you 10K/month to learn, execute and get things done. It's a 6 day working gig, 6 hours daily.
