The DEKRA IT BarCamp is an innovative and collaborative event within Global Integrated IT, welcoming both young and experienced IT professionals to connect and stay up to date with the evolving IT landscape. It provides a unique platform for participants to discuss relevant topics, exchange best practices, and learn from each other's experiences. ? As we shared in a previous post, we were proud to host one of the onsite events at our Budapest office, while several other online sessions connected colleagues from across continents. With the participation of many colleagues globally, we explored critical topics like Composable Infrastructure, Data Fabric, Green Coding, and Generative AI. ???? ? This period has been a deep dive into both technical and soft skills, and I’ve gained valuable insights into their distinct yet complementary roles in professional development. ?? Technical Skills: The Core of Our Expertise ?? Technical skills are the foundational tools that allow us to solve problems and create solutions within our field. In Week 2, I’ve focused on [specific technical skills or topics you worked on], which have been instrumental in [briefly describe the projects or tasks]. These skills are crucial for: - Problem-Solving: Applying technical knowledge to address complex issues effectively. - Innovation: Leveraging new tools and methods to enhance our projects. - Efficiency: Streamlining processes to achieve better results in less time. As 2024 draws to a close, I reflect on the milestones and opportunities that have defined this year: ?? In March, I attended the Data Innovation Summit APAC in Singapore, immersing myself in a global hub of innovation, learning, and networking. ?? May brought the Visa x ecolytiq Climate Tech hackathon, where I challenged myself, built new connections, and embraced creative problem-solving, finding the challenge as rewarding as the friendships forged. ?? September marked my move to New Jersey/New York City, embracing the energy and diversity of this global capital, focusing on personal and professional growth through new opportunities. It’s been a year of incredible growth but also challenges. Here’s one lesson I’ve held onto: Falling is just part of learning to run. Everyone’s journey is different, and failure only becomes permanent if you give up. It’s been a tough year at times, but it’s not the end of the world—just the beginning of new opportunities and I’m grateful for that! ???? 2025 is calling! It also coincides with the 75th Anniversary of the company whose Three Stripes Festival celebration happened in the HQs a couple of weeks ago and I had the great pleasure of enjoying the event in person with some of my team mates. ?? Looking back, some of the best times I have spent here includes when we, Mobile Team, won the IT Devops Cup, the lunch with the astronaut DR. Charles Camarda, the All Blacks event in Herzo, every trip to our HQs, every sports event and, of course, the Three Stripes Festival we had this year. Anyway, what makes very special working here is the people, my team mates: they are my highlight. ?? In an historical moment in which the Agile world is suffering and the skills needed have changed so much with Artificial Intelligence coming into the picture, I’m nowadays focused on adding the maximum value I can to our teams being an Agile Expert, Tech Project Manager or the way you prefer to call it. But always with passion! ?? I’m excited & motivated about comes next, I still see many areas where I can improve and I want to learn and I’m sure new doors and opportunities will come. After a hearty breakfast, we kicked off the morning with an unforgettable tour of the Acropolis, with a proper guide sharing all the history and legends behind the Parthenon—totally worth waking up early for! ???? ? If you’re ever in Athens, this is a must-do—history meets breathtaking views to start the day! ???? ???? After soaking in the sights, we dove straight into productive meetings over lunch ???, where ideas flowed just as easily as the Greek olive oil (which, by the way, is next level). ???? It’s been amazing connecting with my global Inspera colleagues from Europe, Asia, and the Americas—all on the same page and ready to make a difference in EdTech! ???? The day wrapped up with an unforgettable dinner at Lithos in Athens’ old city—Greek food at its finest. ???? If I wasn’t full before, I definitely am now! ?? If Greek food was a course, I’d be taking it for credit. ?????? Tomorrow we have a few more strategic meetings before some of us catch our flights back. ?? But the memories we’ve made here will stay with us long after the trip ends. From brainstorming sessions to laughs shared over lunch and dinner, this experience is a reminder that it’s not just about the work—it’s about the people we work with. ?? It's been a privilege connecting with colleagues from all over the globe. ????
