We sat down with Alan Geddes, Employer Engagement Officer at Middlesbrough College! Alan joined the team in November 2024 to support the delivery of Skills Bootcamps to employers across the Tees Valley. He said: “It’s my role to work with local businesses to find out what skills gaps they might have, explore opportunities to upskill or grow their teams, and go back to them with a training solution that meets their requirements. “The great thing about Skills Bootcamps is that they’re government-funded – either 90% for SMEs or 70% for larger businesses – so employers have a unique opportunity to upskill or grow their workforce without impacting their bottom line.” Read more: https://ow.ly/3BIu50UthVL

Today the Technical College High School -Pennock's Bridge Campus hosted the Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce and over thirty representatives from the local businesses for a "Mega-Networking Event".? The leaders from three regional networking groups (Connections, Grow, and Biznet) coordinated their efforts to create a larger networking event that includes members from banking, insurance, healthcare, construction, and many other local industries.? ?These organizations support the career readiness initiatives of the CTE programs by providing many students with coop and other workplace experiences.? ? ?
