Organizational Leaders and their bias towards their star managers.
Good or bad? ??
Organizational Leaders are not the ones who are directly executing the tasks and so they rely heavily on their trusted managers, who in turn are ensuring the tasks through their teams.
Often, the top leadership gets masked by the bias of their judgement for specific managers, either they will trust them fully or they may always question them.
Leaders then start taking decisions with closed eyes, if their favorite manager said, so. They don't feel the need to dig deeper and cross check.
It is completely understandable that, it is not possible for top leadership to go at complete base level but it is important for them to ensure right decisions are taken.
Leaders should embrace data-driven approaches, seek input from diverse perspectives, and engage in regular self-reflection.
Encouraging dissenting viewpoints and conducting "red teaming" exercises can also help uncover hidden biases and improve decision quality.
