Self-rejection costs more than any "no" from others. 7 ways to stop blocking your own success: You're rejecting yourself before others even get the chance. Time to change that pattern. These science-backed strategies will transform how you ask. And how often you hear yes: 1. People First Approach ? Open with a real story, win or challenge. Personal stories make you instantly memorable. 2. Power of Contrast ? Lead with a big ask first. Your real request will feel like an easy yes. 3. Question Reframing Technique ? "Would you be opposed to..." increases yes responses (h/t Alex Hormozi) 4. Value-Based Mirroring ? Match their style and values. Builds natural rapport that converts. 5. Strategic Urgency Creation ? Frame your ask around limited opportunities. Scarcity drives decisions. 6. Peak Performance Timing ? Ask between 10-11am or 2-3pm. Peak decision energy means better outcomes. 7. Decision Architecture ? Present 3 choices. Less overwhelm, stronger decisions. The worst 'no' is the one you give yourself. Break the silence. Make the ask. Oh my, this one hits home Dr. Carolyn Frost. Have to admit, asking doesn't come easy for me. But I've also come to realize that if my ultimate intention is to serve humanity with an open heart, then not asking might just be doing a disservice to humanity. At the end of the day, it's not about me, it's about what's trying to flow through me and out into the world. I just need to get out of the way.

Self-rejection truly limits potential. Let's embrace these strategies for positive change!

There’s no shortcut to self-approval and internal validation. I see it in my work again and again: most of us need to start by unlearning the limiting beliefs we’ve accumulated over time—beliefs that perpetuate the cycle of diminishing ourselves or being too hard on ourselves when we need the exact opposite. So, step 1: become aware of those beliefs (e.g., 'I’m never good enough; I could and should do better,' or 'My value comes from what others think of me'). Step 2: reprogram them using the right processes and tools. Thanks for the great post Dr. Carolyn Frost!

I love the concept of Question Reframing Technique! It's such a simple yet powerful shift in perspective. Thanks for sharing - I'm inspired to rethink how I approach my asks.

?? Self-rejection can be such a sneaky barrier to our success, and it’s so true that we often hold ourselves back before anyone else gets the chance to respond. I love the strategies you’ve shared—especially the idea of opening with a personal story. It really does create a connection and makes your request more relatable. The concept of strategic urgency is also fascinating; it’s amazing how a little pressure can motivate action! Thank you for sharing these insights; they’re not just practical but also empowering.?

Great tips here! Self-rejection is often the biggest barrier to success. One additional tip: Don't be afraid to fail. Rejection is a part of growth, and each 'no' brings you closer to a 'yes.' The key is consistency and learning from every experience. Keep asking, keep refining your approach, and keep moving forward. The most successful people hear more no’s than yes’s but don't stop asking.

Thank you for sharing these insightful strategies, Dr. Frost! It's so true that self-rejection can be our biggest barrier to success. I particularly resonate with the "People First Approach" - personal stories do create a connection and make our requests stand out. We often underestimate the power of vulnerability in building rapport. I'm looking forward to implementing these techniques and encouraging others to do the same!
