?? ?? Personalized Smart Care for the Elderly: Empowering Independence and Well-being At PEOPLE AND TECHNOLOGY, we are proud to be developing innovative solutions that enhance the quality of life for elderly individuals. In collaboration with Korea University Medical Center, we have worked on a project aimed at providing personalized smart care services to support independent living for the elderly. Pilot tests have been conducted in partnership with Gwangsan District Office. This groundbreaking system utilizes #AI to automatically track daily patterns and detect early signs of health issues, enabling proactive care for seniors. Our goal is to #digitalize the caregiving process, improving efficiency in national caregiving services while offering tailored care that enhances elderly people's well-being. With this smart care platform, we can increase the caregiver-to-patient ratio from 16 to over 30, expanding the reach of caregiving services and improving overall satisfaction. By integrating #IoT devices, AI-powered speakers, and wearable medical devices, we monitor daily life patterns, health conditions, and potential risks. The?#Smartcareplus?system, designed for ease of use, allows elderly users to interact with intuitive voice commands and touch-based responses on a 10.4-inch display, improving accessibility. Key features include: -AI speaker-based emotion recognition?for meaningful conversations. -IoT devices?to monitor environmental factors like movement, temperature, and CO2 levels. -Proactive health monitoring?to detect early signs of illness, such as reduced movement or potential depression, enabling prompt intervention. Our solution, combining 9 software modules and 8 algorithms, provides six core caregiving services: -Health monitoring?(including viral infection checks via cough detection) -Daily health questionnaires -Medication management -Emotional care through music and conversation -Emergency safety alerts -Well-being check-ins This initiative marks a significant leap forward in integrating advanced technologies like AI and IoT to create personalized, non-face-to-face caregiving services. By minimizing the caregiving gaps and improving resource efficiency, we aim to make a real difference in elderly care. #SmartCare #AI #IoT #ElderlyCare #HealthTech #Innovation #PeopleAndTechnology #Smartcareplus

As the United States and other countries face an aging population and a clinician shortage due to retirement and burnout, innovative solutions are needed to support the growing number of seniors in maintaining their independence and well-being. The United States Census Bureau projects, a significant increase in the elderly population, from 58 million in 2022 to a staggering 82 million by 2050, representing a 47% surge. This demographic shift underscores the importance of addressing the unique healthcare needs of seniors in the years to come. One promising avenue lies in the convergence of wearables, remote patient monitoring (RPM), and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. https://lnkd.in/gXUYRDxR #blog #healthcare #remotepatientmonitoring #ai #artificialintelligence #wearables #aging #digitalhealth

It’s not enough to detect falls in senior care. ?? Devices that merely detect falls in senior living communities are becoming obsolete —?especially when they’re wearables that seniors can’t or don’t wear consistently. Operators should be on the lookout for recent innovations in AI and computer vision that also reduce the risk that falls will happen in the first place. It’s the difference between reactive care and proactive care. Such advances will enhance quality, keep residents safer, and improve workforce efficiency for caregivers. #SeniorLiving #SeniorCare #HealthTech #AIinHealthcare #HealthcareInnovation

This is a great example of a software system developed to address the challenges of integrating health and activity data from wearable devices into large-scale research studies. ? The researchers developed a web-based system for integrating data from various sources, particularly wearable devices, to manage multiphase research studies effectively. The system enables the data collection from wearable devices through APIs and mobile apps as well as supports clinical trial management processes (recruitment, screening, randomization, data analysis, etc.) The researchers tested the system based on the behavioral weight-loss study and proved that such systems enable a seamless transition to fully remote assessments while not interrupting trials. Moreover, the trial they examined maintained high participant retention and adherence rates. ?? ? Below, I've listed the areas that, in my opinion, could be considered for future improvements:? ?? Expanding compatibility to include more wearable and IoT devices ?? ?? Built-in communication tools to enhance participant engagement ?? ?? To improve data synchronization and handling?? ?? To enhance real-time data integration and analysis from various sources that currently require manual data integration?? ?? More robust algorithms for detecting and handling errors or anomalies in the data to ensure higher data integrity and reliability? ? What would you add to this list? I’d be pleased to exchange opinions and experiences. The link to the study: https://lnkd.in/dAvzdPF5 #clinicaltrials #remotetrials #dct
