My biggest business learning came at the Indore railway station tea stall... Do you know what surprised me yesterday? This tea seller speaking in English! I was thinking - who speaking English at the railway station tea stall? Our local language is Hindi. But he trying, with full confidence! he told customers while making tea. His English is not perfect, but his eyes twinkle when speaking about dadi. "This masala, my grandmother grinding fresh every morning," "She taught me the secret ratio of ginger and cardamom when I was a small boy. Each morning at 5 o'clock wake up to make fresh masala." Other sellers just say "Chai chai!" But this man? He makes each cup special with the story - in English! Two big lessons I learning: 1. Being different matters (who thinks - English speaking chaiwala!) 2. Good story working in any language Today also I using these lessons. Telling clients - your unique style and honest story? Recently, our students participated in an interactive classroom activity designed to hone their active listening skills – a crucial ability for success in client interactions, campaign brainstorming, and market research. The activity began with dividing the students into pairs. One student played the role of a client with a specific digital marketing need, while the other assumed the role of the marketing consultant. The client partner presented their challenge, outlining their goals and target audience. The key? The consultant partner wasn't allowed to interrupt or ask clarifying questions during this initial presentation. Once the client presentation concluded, the consultant had the opportunity to ask targeted questions to fully grasp the client's requirements. This phase emphasized active listening – paying close attention to details, identifying underlying needs, and demonstrating empathy through verbal and non-verbal cues. The activity culminated in the consultant partner summarizing the client's needs and presenting a tailored digital marketing strategy. This showcased their ability to not just listen but also synthesize information and translate it into actionable plans.
