Quite often, for a complex problem the solution is rather simple. All it takes is a keen and aware mind, with a positive intent.

In the face of adversity, the people of Char Krishnapur under the Ballaverkhash Union, Nageshwari Upazila in Kurigram, are showcasing true #resilience and determination. Despite grappling with relentless natural disasters like floods, droughts, and river erosions, the indomitable spirit of the residents specially young people remains unshaken. With means of communication varying from waterway travel during the monsoon to road travel in the dry season, they have been navigating through challenges with unwavering resolve. However, amidst these trials, a glaring issue arose – the state of the existing road infrastructure. While a road is registered by the government, it has been neglected, leaving it in dire need of repair. But rather than waiting for external assistance, the residents have taken matters into their own hands. In a remarkable display of unity and self-reliance, the community has embarked on a voluntary mission to construct a much-needed 1.5-kilometer road. This initiative not only addresses their immediate transportation needs but also stands as a testament to their commitment to improving their quality of life against all odds. Kudos to the proactive approach of the people of Char Krinchpur. Their dedication to creating positive change serves as a reminder that communities possess incredible strength when they come together with a shared purpose. Yet, this development also raises concerns, particularly for Dhubri's local boat traders, who fear that the new bridge could render their traditional livelihoods obsolete. While the bridge may lead to shorter travel times and increased accessibility, it could also shift trade away from river routes, undermining the boat trade that has sustained local families for generations. Restoring Sidhi's forests, farmlands and common lands can bring economic, environmental and social prosperity for these people as well as their natural ecosystems.
