Title: A Lesson in Professionalism Recently, I had an interesting experience during an interview process that left me reflecting on the importance of professionalism and candidate respect. I was shortlisted for an internship at [PASSIONMOJO PVT. LTD. ] through Internshala. After completing a detailed assignment, I was invited for an online interview scheduled for 4 PM. Upon arriving on time, I was surprised to find that the person who had scheduled the interview was unavailable. Despite waiting and showing my communication history to their associates, I was left unattended and eventually informed that the interviewer was “busy.” This lack of professionalism and respect for my time made me wonder how such behavior reflects on the organization’s culture, especially coming from someone claiming to be the CEO of a recruitment company. To all hiring managers and companies, I urge you to remember: the recruitment process is a reflection of your brand. Just as candidates strive to put their best foot forward, so should organizations. Few days ago, someone sent me an internship role relating to my course of study - Bachelor in Agriculture. In case you haven't come across this before, I'm a Final Year student of the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Animal Production at University of Ilorin .?? I didn't hesitate to share this with my friend as well and we decided to give it a try. We were to create a CV tailored to this particular role. Exactly what I love doing ?? I went to YouTube to update my knowledge more on this specific job role. Learning is a continuous process. ?? I decided the kind of layout to use that best suits this role ?? I decided on the keywords to use - for example, participated, collaborated, Researched, etc. ?? I discarded every irrelevant information and resisted the temptation to include just any skill For example, I'm a Graphic Designer aside being a student, I only made mentioned of this once and that was because it was needed at that point. ?? I crafted the CV bearing the job-description in mind. ?? I kept the CV as simple and straightforward as possible. Just one page ?? I saved in .doc format and will convert to pdf as this is required by the employer.
