Over the past 5/6 years teaching and my kids (students) have been my everything. It's always been about more than just sharing knowledge, it’s about creating meaningful, engaging learning experiences and empowering students to grow and constantly advocate for their needs. Over the years, I’ve honed my skills in designing curriculum, coaching others, and using technology to improve learning outcomes. Now, I’m excited to bring that experience into the world of Learning & Development!
Transitioning from K-12 education to L&D has been an incredible learning experience. Tools and frameworks like ADDIE and Bloom’s Taxonomy feel familiar, but applying them to adult learners in a corporate setting has been a fun challenge. I’ve discovered that so many of the skills I developed as an educator—like adapting to diverse needs, fostering collaboration, and delivering impactful lessons—translate seamlessly into this new space.
What inspires me most about this transition is the opportunity to create learning experiences that go beyond the classroom and drive real world results. Whether it’s designing inclusive training programs, enhancing employee engagement, or supporting organizational goals, I’m eager to make a meaningful impact.
For my fellow educators thinking about a pivot: your skills are more transferable than you might realize. The ability to connect with learners, manage complex projects, and continuously adapt are invaluable in any environment.
I’d love to connect with others in the L&D space—or educators exploring new career paths. Let’s share experiences and learn from one another as we grow! ?? #TransitioningTeachers
