4 out of my 5 engineering friends are struggling to find a good job
The 1 who has got a job is living in Bangalore for 30k per month.
Things are bad for engineering students.
It was bad when I was graduating, it’s worse this year.
I used to say “Our education system is outdated, it’s not the student’s fault”, but it doesn’t change the fact that the system is here to stay.
This is what I believe:
“If you depend on your college, family, YouTube gurus, etc. for jobs, you will suffer a lot in the future”
Here’s what I would do if I were on a job hunt:
1. start investing in my personal brand on LinkedIn(2-3 posts per week)
2. optimize my LinkedIn profile and add relevant keywords
3. delete every social-media platform except LinkedIn and Twitter
4. reach out to people in the industry and do networking with them
5. reach out to team leaders of departments of every startup I know exists(20-30 cold DMs every day)
6. and for sure, keep upskilling
Also, I see the rise of the importance of personal branding in getting job opportunities to people.
People with a good personal brand are going to attract Top 1% opportunities in the future(they are doing already)
So, spending 20-30 minutes daily creating content around your story, experience, and learnings can go a long way.
It’s just a bad year, so don’t worry.
Keep knocking on the doors; someone will open the door for sure.

My first manager Sk Mohammed Hossein thinks himself a great wise man and always underestimate in everyday team meeting. He thought that I knew Python and Data Science and that is a threat for his authority. After that when I rejoined again after completion of project they just terminated my job by telling that the project got ended without giving any notice. Don't work for this organization!
