At Neev Ki Eent Foundation (NKEF), an Indian Institute of Management Bangalore NSRCEL and TFIx-Teach For India incubated organization, we are working to transform the lives of brick kiln laborers in Sasaram, Rohtas, Bihar.?Brick Kiln — a place?often described as more #harrowing_than_a #Shamshan (cremation ground).? In a single 50-meter radius at these kilns, you encounter nearly every developmental issue imaginable:?? * Children as young as 5 years working 8–10 hours daily in hazardous conditions.? * Violations of human, labor, and child rights.? * Lack of basic amenities, malnutrition, bonded labor, and rampant social injustices like child marriage. Yet, amidst these unimaginable hardships, our girl leaders Swabhimaan Fellows walk into these kilns every day, determined to bring change where it’s needed the most. Feeling down about failures or rejections? This post is for you. #Living without #failing is failing to #live I have failed multiple times chosing the wrong career, yes, I used to think that way back then, But now when I #reflect looking back, I realize that each step brought me closer to where I needed to be. I started as an IT Faculty at NIIT Ltd. I was doing well, my boss was even ready to raise my salary to retain but something was missing, so I left to some thing else which I had no clarity about. A friend then suggested I use my science background (I was a top student in Zoology). So, I tried medical transcription and teaching the Language of Medicine. I loved connecting with people, but the subject didn't spark joy for me. Next, I worked as a Client Relationship Executive for Airtel in Sambalpur, Odisha. This role taught me valuable people skills and led me to recruitment and training. Finally, in the trainer role, I felt like I was HOME, to my space and my purpose and I felt so fulfilled and empowered. Since then, it’s been 15 years of my journey which has been incredibly rewarding and evolving. I help people transform and thrive in their lives. Each role taught me something important and brought me closer to my true calling. #Failures show that you're trying new things. ?? They help you learn and grow. ?? Imagine the govt. telling you who to hire! That’s what the #KarnatakaJobReservationBill does, and it’s a HUGE step backwards. Karnataka govt. wants the private sector to reserve 50% of management and 70% of non-management roles for Kannadigas. As an entrepreneur, I find this ridiculous. When hiring, I don’t care about your gender, IIM degree, or hometown. All I care about is your jugaad-ness and inner fire. Like in Ratatouille, where “anyone can cook,” I believe anyone can succeed if given a fair shot. This is the foundation of my businesses. I owe my success to these smart, diverse people—dreamers like me. How else could someone like me, arriving in the city of dreams with just a 50 rupee note, succeed? A morning Rant kinda; maybe late 20's catching up to me!!!! It's gonna be a long post!!!! So basically in linkedin or in general the HR community or to be very specific the #TalentAcquisition / #recruitment profession is already infamous in the market for various reasons well !!!! and come to that some very incompetent people being recruited as Recruiter or working in the Talent Acquisition field are making it Worse..... So this morning I got a call from a Recruiter of a well known manufacturing organisation asking me regarding potential job opportunities; well everything was going good when she asked me about my current and home location; I come from one of the #Sevensisters i.e Northeastern state #Assam so very proudly replied her that I am from #Assam; and come to find my shock when she replied "Assam right it is in Odisha" (this are her exact words); like seriously being wrong or not bring aware of a district or town name is something else and to confuse and entire State with another is entirely something else. Had it even a few years back I will have laughed off it but as I am getting older things like this really does pisses me off. Like how can a Recruiter who at least has to be a graduate doesn't know that #Assam and Odisha are two very beautiful but DIFFERENT state; like comeon how dumb are you that you don't know INDIA has 28 different states weren't we all taught this in School. Ignorant fools like these really made me realise Identity crisis is really a thing and the biggest problem is that people from my own community i.e talent acquisition professionals are so ignorant; when we should be so much aware of these little things!!!!! My Question is you are working as a Recruiter in a leading company and you don't know about your own country!!!!!
