Guess we are back to hating. Actually, I despise it. The new Jaguar rebrand. First, let's talk about the feeling the logo conveys. If I didn't know what their main product or service would be. I would guess it was a new candy company in town, or a new rival to Barbie, but with a little bit more teeth. Their sales have been dropping like flies since 2018, and they decide to go this way? It makes zero sense. I am not even a car enthusiast, but it just strikes a nerve. Ditching legacy and tradition for girly pop vibes.?They are not your target audience, obviously. So instead of making their current target audience happy and trying to reach new frontiers, they have succeeded in alienating themselves from their current clients. And have placed themselves in no man's land, regarding which audience they are trying to speak to. Another issue stems from their position in the market. Jaguar was always considered a classic and luxury car, battling it out with Bentley. However, they decided to try and fight in the lower position of premium. With none other than Mercedes, BMW, and Audi. A drop in status is a risky move to begin with. Not to mention that this premium market is already crowded as it is. They could have done something else entirely. They kept hitting, but they missed all the time. They literally missed the elephant in their marketing room. Come to think of it, that particular elephant has been in several marketing rooms of different companies. Especially after COVID. The name of the elephant? Nostalgia, goddammit! In a crystal clear moment, we are seeing a big push towards electric cars. This was the moment to strike. A campaign centered around a retro theme. Hitting back at the modern with a vintage feeling. They could have showcased the simplicity and the feel of a real car. Compare the Jag to those electric cars that feel like soulless sharks. You just turn around, and they are there, staring at you. No fornicating sound whatsoever. ? Meanwhile, behind a Jag, you feel like you have mounted a beast ready to go to war. Well, at least that was the general perception for it. Now it's not even close to that. PS: I will do two better logos for Jaguar than what we got. #jaguarrebranding #theinsightsofachaoticman #embracechaos
