There's still mass confusion about what the looming TikTok ban entails. Here's the skinny ?? When ??: Unless TikTok's Chinese parent company ByteDance sells the platform to a government-approved buyer, signs point to the law going into effect in January 2025. How ?: TikTok won't just cease to exist in January 2025. Instead, app stores would be forced to remove TikTok, preventing users from receiving app updates. Those who already have the app downloaded would experience bugs and glitches over time, rendering the app unstable and unusable.
