A new "Sale Event" promotion type has been released in Google Merchant Center (currently limited to Free Listings in the USA) Standard promotions in Merchant Center require linking to specific products, which can make them challenging to implement.? Now, Google has introduced a new promotion type called "Sale Event," which is not tied to individual products. Instead, it can be used to advertise general sales, like "All items discounted up to 70% off" or "Special discount: 10% off on golf bags." "Sale Event" can be set from the Promotions page in Merchant Centerm and they require a sale title, dates, destination URL (linking to a page describing the sale), and images. This new option should be simpler to set up than standard promotions. I think that if Google implements this feature effectively, it could be valuable, as it may allow general sale information to be more easily advertised in shopping placements. The final implementation will reveal its potential. One note: the help page mentions that sale events will appear on "non-product-centric surfaces", though it’s unclear to me what this means. Any insights on this are welcome. The help page is already live and provides more details: https://lnkd.in/g8tjBvBF
anyone have a screenshot of what it looks like live? Non-Product-centric surfaces?
