"Surprise s*x is the best thing to wake up to. ...unless you're in prison." ~~~ For 96.8% of my adult life I've been a night owl. If I didn't have to be up til 8am, I couldn't get to bed before 2am. My mind would apply "6 hours sleep", and set a reverse alarm clock. I'd work, browse aimlessly or rewatch something for the 7th time. ???????????????? ?????????? ???????? ???????? ?????? ?????? ????????????. There were two exceptions: If there was a likelihood of waking up to either 1. ???????????????????? ???????????????????? or 2. ?? ???????????? ???????????? / ???????? ???????? At uni I discovered doing either shortly after waking, takes the experience to stratospheric heights. Mind and body have a fresh slate; impact and intensity skyrocket. Many years later, I found a 3rd activity similarly transformed. 3. ???????? ???????? This is partly due to "attention residue." Identified in 2009 by Dr. Sophie Leroy, AR describes how when you go from Task A to Task B, part of your attention stays with Task A. AR reduces the cognitive capacity you have for new tasks. The result? More time spent, for lower output quality. Research shows it increases ? errors ? overlooked details ? subpar decision-making Think of your mind as a whiteboard. When you switch to a new task, you wipe it clean. But never get it pristinely white again. ?????????? ???????? ?????????? ?????????? ???? ?????? ??????????????. ?? ????????'?? ?????? ?? ?????????????? ????: 1. Prep everything the night before ? data, reference files and notes ? draft headline, subtitles, bullet points ? all necessary programs primed to open 2. Get up, do ablutions, go straight to the iMac ? no phone calls or urgent Slacks ? dog and baby aren't up yet ? all social media muted It's rare that I don't enter flow state within minutes. 6 hours of normal output in 2 hours is not uncommon. Hi LinkedIn community! I'd like to (re)introduce myself. I'm Sol ???? I’m a mental fitness coach, which means that I help people train their minds for life’s adventures and challenges. Just like you exercise to keep your body fit, strong and healthy, you can build up the muscles in your mind to live a full, happy and powerful life. We all have a voice in our head that frustrates us, gets us down and holds us back. For me personally, I had a strong sense of being an imposter; that I wasn’t good enough. I set myself impossible standards that left me feeling disappointed in myself. While these negative thinking patterns pushed me towards achieving little wins, they left me feeling stuck, unhappy and unfulfilled. Each of us has our own, unique version of this story. But there’s good news! There are amazing tools and practices that I’ve learnt to overcome all this, and I want to use this space to share them with you. Stick around for future posts to learn how to: * Recognize challenges as gifts and opportunities. * Gain clarity on your goals and pursue them with confidence. * Create a fulfilling life that leaves a positive mark on the world. ?? Does Anger Improve Sports Performance? Anger in sports often gets a bad rap. It's seen as a negative emotion that can lead to uncontrolled aggression, poor decision-making, and loss of fine motor skills. But is it all bad? ?? Let’s dive into how anger can be both harmful and beneficial for athletes: ?? The Downside of Anger: Uncontrolled anger can harm performance, leading to rash decisions and loss of precision. Fine motor skills and quick thinking are crucial in many sports, and anger can compromise these abilities. ?? The Upside of Anger: On the flip side, anger can trigger an adrenaline rush, boosting energy, pain tolerance, and strength. For certain sports and positions, these can be game-changers. So, how can athletes harness anger to their advantage? Here’s a roadmap to finding that balance: Awareness & Normalization: Recognize anger as a normal emotion. By understanding how anger feels at different intensities, athletes can learn to use it to their benefit. Finding Optimal Anger Levels: Reflect on your best performances. Ask yourself: How angry were you? (Rate emotions like angry, grouchy, annoyed, furious, bad-tempered on a scale of 0-4) What was your heart rate like? Did you feel relaxed or tense? Use Relaxation Skills: If lower anger levels work best for you, techniques like deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and mindfulness can help bring anger down to a facilitative level. Imagery for Anger Management: Visualization can be a powerful tool: Increase Awareness: Mentally simulate scenarios to understand how anger affects performance. Increase Anger: Visualize anger-inducing events to rile yourself up when needed. Decrease Anger: Use calming imagery to manage high anger levels. ?? Takeaway: Anger can either enhance or harm performance. The key is to know your optimal anger level and manage it to suit your sport's demands. Recognize when you’re not at your best and adjust your emotional state for peak performance. Want to unlock your performance mindset and achieve your goals using sport and performance psychology? So we've all probably experienced a massage at some point in our life. But have you experienced a massage for your mind?? ?? Probably not, because it's something I've just created!. I'm now waiting for someone to tell me they're already offering this, and I'm stepping on their toes. Sorry not sorry! Can you tell I'm feeling a bit spicy at the moment? A new era of Dr Rosie is emerging right now, a bolder one not afraid to hold back, anyway, back on track... Last season I travelled with a clients team. He had his physical massage pre-game, and then we had a mental session just focused on the game. He said it was like a massage for the mind. He went into that playoff game with a much clearer mind, and he dominated. It's just hit me, we might have been on to something there! So I am launching a ?? NEW OFFER - one hour mind massage sessions. This is different to my full blown coaching. Think of this more like a massage, laser focused on one specific area (identified in our simple consult held via WhatsApp messages) ?? Mental conditioning ?? Nervous system regulation ?? Visualisation ?? Mindset reset I've put this offer out to my athlete community and I already have people booking in for November (huzzah, my inkling that this was needed was 100% correct!) I'm offering this for $200 for anyone that books for November. ?? Now, I want to turn this to you. My high performing colleagues on LinkedIn. This isn't just for athletes. From my experience of working with high performers in various fields also outside of sports, I know that you need a mental rest more than ever. I keep seeing posts about people celebrating business successes or promotions, but sharing that they are also feeling burned out. This isn't a way to live. Nothing changes if nothing changes so... baby steps, how about a mind massage to help you rest, refocus and recharge so that you can perform at your best (in and out of work). If you're interested and would like to know more, drop the word MASSAGE below. Am I going to get flagged by LinkedIn for running a risque business? Who knows, let's find out shall we!! MASSAGE ??

I used to be absolutely petrified of losing clients. If a client left I considered myself a failure and it would get to me in a BIG way... Even if we were not a good fit and I wasn’t enjoying the working relationship. I would even bend my values and approach to suit someone to keep them as a client. I told myself I was just super passionate and really wanted to help (which wasn’t untrue of course). But this was actually just an ego problem in that my identity was wrapped up in my role. And this is a recipe for unhappiness in your work when left unchecked. And that’s not fair on the client either if they’re really better off with someone else. Thankfully I now know WHO is for me and who isn’t. Who I know I can really help AND am passionate about helping. You see I LOVE helping people resolve pain and movement issues using resistance exercise. If it relates to an activity or sport you love to play or participate in then even better! I want you to live a long, healthy and happy life being able to KEEP DOING what you enjoy. If this resonates then send me a DM and let’s organise a chat or a consultation. And if it turns out if we’re not a fit, I am happy to refer you to someone that may suit you better. I am about longterm and sustainable fitness solutions and not 12 week transformations. As always, play the long game. #personaltrainer #onlinecoach #resistancetraining #fitnessover40

Much of the work I do is helping athletes, people in sport and the everyday person access greater mental and emotional control and stability without the need for something external outside of themsleves to influence this. Many are still under the illusion that something external needs to change before they can feel or perform better. I'm grateful that I get to help others grasp this more mindful approach and teach the skills that help them self generate a new level of personal performance using a series of mental and emotional energy renewing tools and techniques. These are skills that can be learned and develop over time that cause you to access the capacity needed to reach and sustain a high performance state called coherence. When you are coherent you will access ??Clearing thinking ??Quiter mind ??Greater levels of intuition ??Mental & Emotional Balance ??Lower blood pressure ??Higher Heart rate variability ??Greater control of fine motor skills ??Improved vitality ??Improved communication and connection with yourself and others It's like having your own personal activation system that provides the opportunity for you to get out ahead of any stressful or high pressured situation helping you manage thoughts and emotions that would normally get in your way of making the progress you want. Let's face It, life will not stop throwing curve balls, sport will not always play out they way you want and work will test your stress tolerance. After all we are here to evolve and contrast is a necessary part of the equation. Mental, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing is at the core of everything we do and developing the skills to access that inner wellbeing is the key to greater satisfaction and fulfillment in life, sport, work and play. #peakperformance #coherence #wellbeing #energymanagement #stressless #thrivemore #mindful #mentalhealth #emotionalhealth #resilience

?????? ??????’???? ???????? ?????????????? ?????? ???????????????????? ?????? ??????????—?????? ???????? ???????????? ?????????? ???????? ???????????? ???? ?????????? ???? Sometimes, all it takes is the right words at the right moment to kick-start a fire within. I stumbled upon a conversation between Senada Greca & Jay Shetty, & wow, let's just say it was like a lightning bolt to my motivation! We’ve all been there, haven’t we? You scroll through endless fitness tips, watch a gazillion workout videos, and still find yourself saying, "I'll start tomorrow." Well, according to Senada, waiting around for motivation to magically appear is like waiting for your cat to fetch your slippers—ain’t gonna happen! THE POWER OF SHOWING UP (EVEN WHEN YOU DON’T FEEL LIKE IT) Senada spoke about how fitness isn't about a grand transformation that happens overnight—it's a habit you build, one small step at a time. Start with just five minutes, she said. Five minutes might not seem like much, but it’s enough to plant the seeds of consistency. The best part? Senada’s journey isn’t just about the physical gains; it’s about mental resilience. She shared how getting stronger helped her overcome anxiety & depression. For her, it wasn't just about lifting weights; it was about lifting herself out of a dark place. PERSONAL BRANDING LESSON: AUTHENTICITY OVER PERFECTION Here's what really hit me: Her journey wasn't picture-perfect, & that’s what makes her so relatable. In a world where everyone’s trying to show their ‘best self’ on social media, she stands out by being raw, real, and refreshingly honest. That's #PersonalBranding at its finest! When you share your story—the messy, imperfect, all-too-human story—people see themselves in you. And that’s where true connection lies. Your audience doesn’t want perfection; they want realness, vulnerability, & someone who’s not afraid to say, "I’m struggling, too." FLIRTY FUN FACT: I’VE GOT A NEW GYM CRUSH ?? Okay, let’s get real for a second—Senada Greca isn’t just inspiring; she’s downright charming! Watching her on Jay’s podcast made me rethink my entire relationship with fitness (and maybe fall a little in love with her energy too!). Who knew that a mix of strength training tips & soul-deep wisdom could be so... swoon-worthy? ?? MOTIVATION IS OVERRATED; BUILD HABITS INSTEAD Her message is clear: stop relying on motivation. It’s fickle, unpredictable, and often missing in action when you need it most. Instead, focus on building habits. Whether it’s setting out your workout clothes the night before or squeezing in just 5 minutes of movement—these small actions lead to big changes. ?????????? ????????????????: ?????????? ???? ?????????????? ???????? ??????????? If you’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to start, consider this your sign. Whether it’s hitting the gym, crafting your personal brand, or simply showing up for yourself, remember that progress beats perfection every time. #StellaUnscripted #SenadaGreca

My thought ?? today training Legs. “I’m spending a lot of time alone lately...” Something I’ve been good at for years. But, not so much these days. My mental fitness does take a hit at times. But, I got sh*t to achieve, and it is bigger than me now. I’m using this time wisely and in the best way possible. I have a future to think about. I have clients and a business to the next level. This is the perfect time NOT to have balance. Everyone preaches?“Balance,” but the truth is, it’s not real. Balance is a consistent balancing act, and you’re in control of which end it’s tipping. At times, we need it to tip more towards socialising and downtime. Then it needs to tip towards head down, cut out the sh*t and knuckle down on your goals. People get called?“obsessed”?or?“need to get a life”,?but the person getting called this is likely excelling in pursuit of their goals at an incredible rate ?? If your goals mean as much as you say they do... You will have to make some level of sacrifice to achieve them. And the amount of sacrifice depends on the rate at which you want to achieve your goals. Here’s what I’m doing right now... Monday through Wednesday, head down. Breaking my 7.30pm rule. Thursday, pull back a little... Friday and Sunday, repeat Monday to Wednesday. Sunday pull back. There will be times in your week, month, and year when you have to f*cking send it, and there will be moments when you need to pull back and relax. What time is it for you now? P.S. Reshare if this was helpful ?? #productivity #future #personalbranding #fitnessbusiness #selfawareness

What steps have you taken to strengthen your emotional intelligence lately?? ?? ? I see emotional intelligence as the steering wheel of my car. Just as the steering wheel helps me guide and navigate the road before me, emotional intelligence lets me navigate my relationships and experiences. I can control my emotional reactions. Emotional intelligence helps me decide how I want to react. I can choose paths that encourage stronger connections and help me better understand others. This balance is essential not only for my relationships but also for my health and well-being. ? When we firmly grip our emotional 'steering wheel,' we reduce stress, build resilience, and create the foundation for a healthier mind and body. ? How can we work on improving our emotional intelligence? ? ?? First, reflect on your emotions and behaviors to understand what drives you and recognize any triggers. Journaling or mindfulness exercises are great ways to build this self-awareness. ?? Next, you can understand others' perspectives by paying attention to what they say. Active listening can help us create more profound and more understanding relationships. ?? Then, techniques like deep breathing, pausing before reacting, or reframing our thoughts can help us stay calm, even in challenging situations. Also, communicate better. Start asking open-ended questions and showing empathy. ?? Finally, stay positive as it helps navigate difficulties. ? Improving emotional intelligence is like refining our driving skills: it requires awareness, practice, and a willingness to adjust as we go. ? ?By doing so, we improve our relationships and create a foundation of resilience, well-being, and personal growth that supports us in every area of life. #emotionalintelligence #selfpathcoaching #resilience #awareness #personalgrowth

"Lost My Motivation, Found My Why." Lately, I’ve been struggling to find the motivation to hit the gym. Between work responsibilities and building multiple businesses and having a new baby I let my fitness goals slip. But recently, I took a step back and asked myself: Why did I go to the gym in the first place? It dawned on my that working out and going to the gym isn’t just about physical health—it’s about mental clarity, resilience, and showing up for myself. Finding some time for me to just shut off and focus on nothing else but making sure I don't drop a dumbell on my face. So with that, I’m starting fresh, setting new goals, and embracing the small wins. #FitnessJourney #Motivation #Wellness #Discipline
