Following our annual Top Startups list a few weeks ago, we’re unveiling all-new rankings of the emerging companies you should know now in 10 major U.S. metropolitan areas. Entirely backed by LinkedIn data, these are young companies — all founded within the past seven years — that are shaping the future of their industries, growing fast locally and recruiting top talent. While these are the same pillars used for our U.S. Top Startups list, the methodology slightly differs, reflecting activity at the local city level vs. the country: https://lnkd.in/USTopStartups2024 Check out each city ranking below to dig into open jobs, explore in-demand skills and connect with people you may know.?? ??Austin: https://lnkd.in/TS24Austin? ??Boston: https://lnkd.in/TS24Boston? ??Chicago: https://lnkd.in/TS24Chicago? ??Dallas: https://lnkd.in/TS24Dallas? ??Denver: https://lnkd.in/TS24Denver? ??Los Angeles: https://lnkd.in/TS24LA? ??New York City: https://lnkd.in/TS24NYC? ??San Francisco: https://lnkd.in/TS24SF? ??Seattle: https://lnkd.in/TS24Seattle? ??Washington, D.C.: https://lnkd.in/TS24DC And we’d love to know: What cities would you like to see rankings for in the future? #LinkedInTopStartups
I'm going to double down on what many in the comments are saying around the southeast US. Atlanta, south Florida (Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, etc), Chattanooga, Nashville, etc are all positioned to hop on the list if we can get the ecosystem of investors, venture studios, incubators, and accelerators built up. The innovation is here.
?? San Diego is so far off the radar it's insane. Startups here received more funding in the last 5 years than major world business capitals. Much more than Austin. Denver? Dallas? Forget about it. We've minted plenty of unicorns lately like GoFundMe, ClickUp, Seismic, a ton of security and AI products, life sciences, and lifestyle brands. But the proximity to LA means that nobody notices any of this! Wild.
Some factual stats matter more than linkedin rankings. They'll figure it out eventually.
I think this was a AI-written article, as the companies associated with the city have no ties to the city listed. They are primarily out of town companies.
Let's go NYC!!! Finding housing is more difficult than finding a job these days and we're here to help!
anchorage, boise, bozeman … startups are happening everywhere if you love adventure, come travel with me. surprise guaranteed ?? LinkedIn News, pls feature a city each week. pls write the story from within the city startup ecosystem and share the stories of visionaries; how they see the future. it’s a lot more fun
For those questioning why these cities were chosen and not other US metro areas, it is because these are the areas that have seen the most venture capital (VC) funding into startups. While cities such as Detroit, Houston, Philadelphia, Phoenix, etc. boast larger populations and significant economic output, they are not highly active cities for tech startup creation. This is changing and it is excited to see cities like Atlanta, Birmingham, Columbus, Indianapolis, Nashville, Tulsa, and many more cities invest in supporting early stage startup ecosystems, they are further behind than the ten cities listed above.

1 周How you going to have Denver, Dallas & DC in here and skip ATL? We've had some of the most impressive stories of the last decade come out of "the A" like Calendly, Salesloft, and OneTrust with more on the rise like PrizePicks & Flock Safety... C'mon!
