Thought leadership is not for everyone, and just being a domain expert won't necessarily make you a thought leader. But if you want to play a bigger game professionally, then pursing a thought leadership strategy might be the way to go. This is going to hurt your brain a bit. Good differentiator, thought leaders are rare for a reason as original thought is hard especially in todays world of endless knowledge consumption. I feel it takes stepping away from what others are saying, doing your own research h to come to unique conclusions.

4 个月Trevor Young I have always taken the view that thought leadership is a description that someone else uses about you based on, well, your genuine leadership in a specific area. As you rightly note, it’s the consistent delivery of new/different/innovative thought, insights, foresight and more. It’s not something you do or get by a few posts, even a book. I’ve seen too many business book authors rehash existing insights, like a giant mash up that has no originality. Some others totally nail it.
