I’m thrilled to share that my latest research paper, titled "Assessment of Reliability and Availability of Wireless Sensor Networks in Industrial Applications by Considering Permanent Faults", has been published in the prestigious journal Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, Wiley. This study explores the critical role that Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) play in industrial applications. Given the inherent vulnerabilities of WSNs—due to the large number of nodes and hardware/software constraints—ensuring reliability and availability is paramount. Our research employs fault trees and Markov chain analysis to assess network performance under various failure scenarios. These techniques offer valuable insights into improving fault tolerance and network stability. The findings provide practical recommendations for enhancing WSN systems and empowering developers to make data-driven decisions to mitigate risks. ?? Taking our temperature control system to the next level! In Phase 3, we opted to design a custom AC control circuit for ultimate customization. ?????? ??????? We wanted complete control over our system's functionality. This meant building the AC regulation circuit ourselves. ???????????????? ???????????????????? ????????: → ESP8266 Microcontroller: Brains of the operation, monitoring sensor data and controlling AC units. → 30-amp Relays: Handles the high power requirements of our AC units. ?????????? ??????????????????, ?????????? ?????????????? → Sensor data is analyzed to determine optimal AC operation. → A custom algorithm calculates the number of AC units required based on temperature trends. → The algorithm publishes its decisions to an MQTT topic for real-time communication. → The ESP8266 microcontroller subscribes to this topic and controls the AC units accordingly. This Phase brings us one step closer to a personalized and energy-efficient temperature control system. As part of my project focused on monitoring embedded system performance, I developed an interactive real-time dashboard using Grafana and Prometheus. This dashboard enables continuous monitoring of my Raspberry Pi’s CPU and RAM usage, with data updating in real-time. I configured Prometheus to collect system metrics via node_exporter, fine-tuning queries to visualize CPU and memory usage through gauge charts. This solution provides comprehensive visibility into the health of system resources, allowing for the quick detection of any anomalies or overloads. Efficient Setup for #5G Outdoor Application: In many 5G applications, the challenge is to get a good mobile signal, e.g. in buildings, on ships and in industrial plants. An antenna location indoors often provides no or insufficient signal. The possible antenna cable length is also severely limited by line losses.? A practical solution is to integrate a Robustel R5020 directly into the Poynting Group EPNT-4 housing outdoors with a connection via an Ethernet cable to the IS-DG306P industrial PoE Switch indoors.
