Yesterday, we gathered for a special Fish and Chip lunch to celebrate the retirement of Howard Foster, fondly known to us all as "Fozzy", who is hanging up his high-vis after 18 years of loyal service with us. ????♂? From Chris Boden-Hook, Managing Director: "It is an honour to celebrate the retirement of Howard, better known to all as Fozzy. Joining us as a mechanical fitter 18 years ago, Fozzy has been a cornerstone of our installation teams, holding positions as site supervisor and manager for countless projects in the UK and Malaysia. Throughout his tenure, he has mentored future generations of tradespeople and supervisors. Most recently, Fozzy spearheaded a project to upgrade our shop assembly systems. He oversaw apprenticeship training programs for future mechanical fitters, developed procedures for conveyor assembly, and established trade tests for benchmarking and pricing systems for task completion times. On a personal note, working with Fozzy has been a true pleasure. He has always demonstrated professionalism and unwavering calmness in the face of adversity and has never sugar-coated issues. Fozzy has been a manager’s dream, travelling across the globe for the business without hesitation. He never asked for personal preferences on jobs, always willing to go wherever and whenever we needed him. His dedication was recently showcased during our Mountsorrel project, arguably the most intense construction we have ever completed. Working split shifts 7 days a week, Fozzy played a key role as a supervisor, acting as the buffer between the main construction team and senior site management. This high-pressure role required physical and mental stamina, and Fozzy excelled, helping coordinate one of the greatest achievements in our nearly 40-year history. His enthusiasm and dedication never waned as he approached his retirement date. He could have opted for an easier role but chose to be the right-hand man of the shift manager, continuing to support our next generation of site managers. His contributions were instrumental to the success of the project. I cannot thank him enough for his service. While he will be missed by many, we all wish him a well-earned and deserved retirement. Thank you, Fozzy." If you have worked with Howard, please leave a comment below as we wish him all the very best. ???? #retirement #engineering #wrightengineering
