I'm grateful to Karol Gil Vasquez for her amazing work and collaboration on this research recently published in Inderscience's International Journal of Export Marketing, titled Leadership and Entrepreneurial Choices: understanding the Motivational Dynamics of Women Entrepreneurs in Mexico: https://lnkd.in/eeTaRFE4. Abstract: This paper investigates women's entrepreneurial leadership within Stewart's role demands-constraints-choices in Mexico. It highlights the underrepresented role of female entrepreneurs in Latin America and aims to fill a literature gap by examining their unique motivations and leadership styles. Adopting a qualitative method and semi-structured interviews with Mexican women entrepreneurs, it finds that their motivations are intertwined with personal goals, cultural norms, and economic conditions, contrasting with findings from developing nations. Key motivations include financial autonomy, family support, societal betterment, and personal fulfillment. Findings offer a comprehensive view of the complex interplay between the entrepreneurs' roles, motivations, and leadership decisions within the socio-economic and cultural backdrop. It contributes to the broader dialogue on international entrepreneurship and women's studies, enhancing understanding of Mexican women's entrepreneurship. Conclusions and recommendations offer practical implications for policymakers, educators, and industry professionals by providing strategies to cultivate an environment that supports women's entrepreneurial leadership in emerging economies. CEO & Founder of the MENTupLEADup technique? - Where Business Leaders Meet Business Growth | Business Turnaround Specialist | Published Author | Keynote Speaker | Business Columnist | Ireland Chair ABM
Our small businesses are desperate for long term devolution. The last 5 years have been more than difficult, with the impact of the pandemic followed closely by a vacuum in our political system. Now, with the right policies and leadership there are so many opportunities for small business leaders to grasp. As part of the UK internal market and with unfettered access to EU markets, we are the only place in the world able to trade goods freely with both the GB and EU markets. To make this happen the top 5 priorities on the list of immediate needs for our small businesses has to include - unencumbered access to capital, more and much better delivery of quality business education and support, greater promotion of entrepreneurship, championing sustainable growth and a much greater emphasis on how to protect intellectual property. Have you ever considered the hidden edge of being bicultural in the business and entrepreneurial world? It’s not just about cultural fluency; it's a game-changer in how we approach business challenges. Research from Harvard Business Review highlights that bicultural individuals often excel in global business environments. They're adept at navigating cross-cultural interactions, a crucial skill in our interconnected economy. This ability to understand and bridge diverse perspectives isn't just practical; it's a competitive advantage. Bicultural entrepreneurs and professionals are often more skilled in identifying and adapting to new market opportunities precisely because they can view things from multiple cultural lenses. They bring innovation and creativity to problem-solving that’s hard to match, often seeing opportunities where others see barriers. So, for those juggling cultures, remember this: your bicultural background might be your secret weapon in the business world. It’s about more than just speaking two languages—it's about thinking and connecting in ways others cannot. Embrace your bicultural advantage! ?? #BiCulturalBusiness #GlobalMindset #BiCulturalAdvantage #DiversityInThought
