#EmployeeSpotlight - Jeffrey Thumas I am so excited that September marks my 4 years here at GBR! Throughout my time here, I have seen a lot of changes. Not only from the company itself, but my journey and sense of purpose here has also significantly changed. To me, purpose is a fluid concept, often shifting as we navigate through various stages of our lives and careers. My journey at GBR has been a testament to this fluidity. When I first started in adops, my sense of purpose was primarily driven by a desire to excel and prove myself as a valuable asset and be given the opportunity to grow. My initial goals were centered around absorbing any and all knowledge, completing projects, earning accolades, and advancing my career in every way. However, as time passed, my positions at GBR changed and my perspective began to broaden. A pivotal moment that solidified this shift occurred when I came to the realization of my true purpose at GBR. I realized that my sense of fulfillment and purpose was increasingly tied to the well-being of the people around me as well as the continued success of GBR. I realized that I find deep satisfaction in fostering and growing success within the company as a whole. This realization has had a profound impact on the choices I make everyday. I find myself not only trying to better myself, but also prioritizing initiatives that advance our goals and our team. My approach shifted from focusing solely on my own purpose, to also prioritizing the continued success of GBR and empowering others to do the same. This change has not only confirmed my sense of purpose but also enhances my career path with a deeper, more collaborative vision of success. #PathwaysToSuccess

In a series of posts over the next few months, we will be sharing information on our company values – what they mean, how we developed them as a team, and how we incorporate them into our daily lives. This journey began back in 2021 as we prepared for our demerger from Doro. Our leadership team, with the guidance of a communications agency, initially laid the groundwork for our company name, brand, mission, vision, purpose, and values through a series of workshops. Recognising the importance of involving voices from across the organisation, we extended this work by appointing representatives from various departments to review and contribute their perspectives on the proposed values. Their input was invaluable and, in a collaboration with the leadership team, we refined these values to ensure company-wide resonance. Our CHRO Annika Ramsing, reflects on the work that was accomplished: “We understood that words hold different meanings for different people, which is why we launched the ‘Culture in Every Department’ initiative. Through this, managers led workshops with their teams to collectively determine what these values meant in their daily work. The result was a powerful alignment, where each department could identity with our values and how they were brought to life in their specific roles.” Our values – Show Care, Act Smart, and Be Heroes – were born out of this process and are more than just words - they are principles that guide our actions and reflect in everything we do. 2025 marks a significant milestone.?A milestone I do not take lightly, and one that rests on the shoulders of so many committed team members for many years.?Twenty-five years, to be exact. That’s right, Main Street is 25! For two and a half decades, Main Street has proudly delivered excellence in service, staying true to our values, and putting customers first. In the business world, this isn't just an achievement - it's a masterclass in doing things right. While the statistics may vary, they tell a sobering story: Only about 30% of businesses make it to the 10th year. By year 20, that number drops to less than 10%. And those that reach 25 years? ?We're talking about an elite 5%. Even more elite … a company that reaches this milestone while never wavering from our core values. Main Street isn't just part of that 5%, we've written our own chapter in it. For a quarter century, we've shown that success doesn't require compromising integrity.
