In addition, the ARIETTA is equipped with various diagnostic applications such as “Real-time Tissue Elastography” (RTE), which uses colour to express variations in tissue elasticity; “Shear Wave Measurement”, which can quantitatively evaluate the elasticity of the tissue; and the revolutionary Detective Flow Imaging (DFI) technology. TIPS guidance with dual phase DynaCT, by Huibin Shi and Zhiping Yan el al from Zhongshan Hospital in Shanghai [1]. ? In my last post I shared the experience from University Hospital Tuebingen, using 3D markers from #DynaCT portography to guide portal vein puncture during TIPS procedure. ? Here is another alternative, a novel technique using dual-phase #DynaCT with selective injection. The 3D images of the hepatic artery and portal vein (PV) can be obtained simultaneously during one 3D dual-phase acquisition and overlaid on the dual-volume display mode in live ?uoroscopy for real-time PV puncture guidance. Volumetric imaging of the two vessels and their spatial relationship helps to construct the individualized shunt and reduce puncture related complications. ? ?? For all the "Cardiac Imaging freaks", like myself, I can understand this might be less interesting, but it is time to move our attention also to non cardiovascular (and non Neurovascular, which we partially showed already) applications. Yes, this is important because one may think this is just a wonderful Cardiovascular Machine. Of course it is! but it is also a magnificent Whole Body Imaging Machine with yet-to-be-discovered killer applications. Ultra High Resolution Spectral Imaging of Pancreas (arterial phase; std and IODINE); check out the tail of the pancreas for some abnormalities. Let's start as usual with some simple anatomical details to allow everyone a bit of a grasp of the features of this new imaging technique. Ex. from axial dataset 1024x1024 matrix; FOV 200mm; source images 0.2/0.1-0.4/0.2mm; thickness/increment. Kernel Bv60. Maximum QIR iterative reconstructions level 4.
