Earlier this week, we recognized World Environment Day. For 51 years, June 5 has been the day that the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) encourages worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. World Environment Day 2024 focused on land restoration, halting desertification?and building drought resilience. Interestingly, the Belden strategy for Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) has a similar focus: we are committed to limiting our environmental footprint as part of our vision for a more sustainable future. For example, Belden is committed to the responsible management of water and promoting access to this limited resource for all. Our current conservation efforts focus on recycling, efficiency, and reuse. Since 2022, we have reduced our water consumption by 3%. We are also committed to reducing our waste. At the end of 2023, Belden’s amount of total waste was 31,200,886 lbs. 85.5% of this waste was diverted from landfills, a 3% improvement from last year. We are making steady progress towards our 2025 goal. On this day, above all others, it is time for us to mobilize in the name of #ecologicaltransformation. Like 66% of the world's population, I believe choosing action over inaction in the face of climate disruption is the only right answer for our Planet. 66% is great but, faced with the consequences of #ClimateChange, it's surely not enough ?? I frequently meet with the team and clients act for ecological transformation by intentionally looking and listening to their challenges to help find answers to the most significant water challenges of our time. - we need everyone onboard #EcologicalTransformation team? The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced over $4.3 billion in Climate Pollution Reduction Grants for selected recipients under The White House Investing in America Agenda to tackle the climate crisis. ? The 25 selected applications will fund projects across 30 states to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation, electric power, commercial and residential buildings, industry, agriculture, and waste and materials management. The proposed projects are projected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 971 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent by 2050. ? This is a major step toward the United States' lofty goal of reaching zero emissions by 2050. At ERA, we support organizations in tackling their emissions through our Corporate Sustainability Software, with robust calculations, tracking, and reporting for Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions. ? As we observe World Environment Day, it's a moment to celebrate our planet and reaffirm our commitment to environmental stewardship. As a leader in our industry, Toll has an opportunity to materially change the volume of carbon that is emitted into our environment through the decisions we make in our business. We’re aiming to reduce our impact on the environment by focusing on the key areas of fleet, facilities, and ways of working. Our journey towards sustainability is a collective effort, and so we have integrated eco-friendly practices into our operations, and we're constantly exploring new ways to reduce our environmental footprint. These include replacing conventional lights with LEDs, installing multiple recycling stations on site, returning packaging to suppliers, harvesting rainwater, removing single use coffee capsules and eliminating single use plastics. We know there is more work to be done and we’re committed to continually exploring how we can do better. While green technology holds transformative potential, we need to recognize that the climate crisis calls for not just technical fixes, but a resolution to a complex landscape of economic and socio-political issues. My view on Green Technology and Innovation - The Future of environment protection.

The side event on Innovative Approaches to Sustainable Water Resources Management, organized by the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency at COP29 on November 16, 2024, is highly significant for several reasons: 1. Showcasing Azerbaijan’s Leadership: The event highlights Azerbaijan's proactive role in addressing global water challenges through innovation and sustainable practices, emphasizing its contributions to global climate resilience. 2. Advancing Climate-Water Integration: It underscores the critical link between water resource management and climate adaptation, addressing issues like droughts, water scarcity, and efficient resource use in the context of climate change. 3. Promoting Innovative Solutions: The event focuses on cutting-edge technologies and practices, such as digital tools, water-saving techniques, and nature-based solutions, to enhance sustainable water management. 4. Global Collaboration Platform: Taking place at COP29, it fosters international dialogue and partnerships, encouraging knowledge exchange and cooperative action among countries, organizations, and experts. 5. Supporting Global Goals: The initiative aligns with the Paris Agreement and UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation) and SDG 13 (climate action), emphasizing sustainable and equitable water resource use.

Mexico’s leadership under President Claudia Sheinbaum prioritizes environmental conservation, energy transition, and water management, while navigating challenges like budget cuts and the environmental costs of resource depletion.? Despite progress, experts warn of the economic and social impacts of climate change, including the loss of biodiversity, increased droughts, and the need for substantial investments in green technologies and jobs. With the global push for sustainability, the rise of green jobs and corporate responsibility are reshaping industries, but the path to a sustainable future remains complex and requires bold action. ??
