We have surveyed over 700 executives across US, UK, Germany and Netherlands on number of Topics from Tech investments to biggest risks. Here is a glimpse: 50% of respondents admitted that their tech department had faced budget pressures due to the turbulent economy. However, despite overall budgets being cut, 81% said their company had increased tech investment over the last year. This could reflect expenditure in new technologies like AI, with the goal of boosting overall operational efficiency through tech that gives them the best return on investment. https://lnkd.in/d2D-_x6f

The Digital Decade initiative in Europe was created with the vision that digital technology benefits all citizens in the European Union (EU). Proposed in 2021, it set a series of 2030 targets designed to?empower citizens and help businesses prosper. However, a new report suggests that current progress may be insufficient to meet these targets. The latest installment of the?State of the Digital Decade?report identifies crucial gaps, including the need for more investment, at both EU and national levels. It calls for member states to be more ambitious – stating that achieving many of the Digital Decade goals is critical for Europe’s future economic prosperity and societal cohesion. ?? LISER study on #digitaltransformation during the #COVID19 pandemic ?? The publication entitled "Firm-Level Technology Adoption in Times of Crisis" co-authored by LISER researcher Terry Gregory, investigates how crises affect firms’ adoption of frontier technologies using the Covid-19 #pandemic as a #casestudy. The analysis tracks the nature, timing, and pandemic-related motivations of investments among German firms, using longitudinal survey data linked with administrative worker–firm records. ?? The authors find clear evidence for a shift toward #remotework technologies that helped firms mitigate negative employment effects. Overall, however, the pandemic slowed down the diffusion of new #technologies. A new survey by ANS Group and YouGov reveals that 48% of UK mid-sized companies see their growth constrained by a lack of access to advanced technology. A new report from the European Commission has revealed that many member states are falling behind on their Digital Decade goals for 2030. ? This is important because the goals cover crucial areas like digital upskilling, infrastructure and the uptake of new technology. Falling behind in these areas could put significant barriers in the way of innovation, economic growth and social equity across Europe. Our own EY Europe Attractiveness survey found that creating a fertile ground for tech innovation is a top factor in maintaining Europe’s attractiveness for foreign investment, and boosting people’s digital skills will be a critical aspect of this. ? This report should serve as a call to action across the continent. Europe’s digital transformation and economic recovery are inextricably linked.
