??Meet our partners! ? ??We are happy to present the final consortium of our project, which counts with the incorporation of two new partners: Ajuntament de València - València Innovation Lab and the Croatian municipality Porec-Parenzo. ? ?? Both cities will function as destination management organizations (DMOs) and assist small and medium-sized businesses in the tourism industry. ? ??Valencia city is committed to digital and green transition of tourism, evidenced by the numerous events organized by the city, being the VDS a global benchmark. As for sustainability, Valencia has been named as European Green Capital 2024. With all these, Valencia is the perfect candidate to become the urban laboratory of good practices of innovation and sustainability in tourism generating a model that can inspire to activate other Hubs of innovation in tourism in other territories. ? ??Istria's second-biggest city, Pore?-Parenzo, has a prime location that has made it a major tourist destination. It boasts a wealth of historical and cultural landmarks, pristine landscapes, excellent cleanliness, a variety of lodging options, and a bustling food and tourism scene. ?? Great Opportunities for Regional Businesses! ?? On September, 20th, the ACIF-CCIM hosted an informative session for its members to unveil the remarkable opportunities presented by the SMARTIES project. Funded by the COSME program of the European Union, this initiative involves eight partners from six European countries: Italy, Greece, Croatia, Slovenia, Portugal, and Cyprus. Its primary goal is to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the tourism sector through the dual green and digital transition. Starting in November, ACIF-CCIM will invite regional companies to submit innovative projects aimed at sustainability and enhancing the tourist offering in their destinations. Up to 15 of the most creative projects from each participating country will be supported, receiving a fixed amount of €25,000 along with personalized consulting during the 15-month implementation phase, beginning in April 2025. Projects should focus on at least one of the following thematic areas: ?? Green and Digital Transition ?? Regenerative Tourism ?? Linkages between Tourism and Agriculture The call for proposals will be open from November 2024 to February 2025, with results announced in April 2025. ???This week we travelled to Galicia, Spain with FU-TOURISM! ? ??We are happy to announce that during this week, Thursday 30th May, and Friday 31st May, our project has been presented at the I International Tourism Cooperation Symposium, organised by ASICOTUR, and also at a talk organized by TURISLAB Project, as an example of good practises in the context of efficient use of European funds to promote circular economy and tourism. With these actions, FU-TOURISM shows its commitment to encouraging and disseminating the need for the twin transition of the tourism ecosystem. ? ??@FINNOVA FOUNDATION, one of our partners, has given these two presentations and showcased the project, with two interventions happening these days. In both speeches, the foundation discussed the EU funds available to promote the circular economy and tourism using the FU-TOURISM project as an example of good practice.? ? ??With the support of €4 million from the European Commission's SMP European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) programme, FU-TOURISM will help 102 European small and medium-sized enterprises in the tourism sector to thrive in an era of digital and green change. To achieve this, it will offer two acceleration initiatives: ? ??1. FU-TOURISM ACCELERATION PROGRAMME: 60 SMEs -10 per country. (Mentoring and financial support of €20,000 each). ? ??2. SCALING UP FU-TOURISM PROGRAMME: 42 SME associations - 7 per country. (Mentoring and financial support of 30.000€.
