A new KinderCare Learning Companies report highlights the importance of employer-sponsored child care benefits in attracting and retaining top talent, with 85% of HR leaders noting reduced turnover and 86% citing improved talent acquisition. I met an inspiring successful entrepreneur at Harvard Business School during this year’s conference: “Business For A Better Tomorrow.” She operates businesses in finance and real estate and still has time for family, a social life and self development. I asked her the secret to her success and she shared the strategy that she proactively hires workers over age 50 because this underserved and often untapped segment represesegments a highly effective resource that requires less training, and is more dedicated and reliable. I’ll leave it up to her to self identify in the comments should she desire. Our conversation got me thinking about the brilliance of her intergenerational strategy. We discussed that when you treat employees with respect and fairness, you’ll have a loyal resource that brings unmatched capabilities and innovation.
