Some of us started as enthusiastic interns, others came from various corners of the industry, but we all found a place here where personal and professional growth, alongside meaningful work, come together in an authentic culture. Our experiences in Abu Dhabi, Slovakia, Budapest, and a few adventures through Romania were just the beginning of cultural and environmental explorations necessary for the soul and mind. Month by month, we continued to nourish our souls and minds with books and courses for personal and collective development, covering a diverse range of topics, followed by meetings and discussions on these themes from different personal perspectives. We never limited ourselves to just building, but also focused on how we do it and with whom. We have always sought to invest in initiatives that create authentic connections, grow together, and bring about the much-desired change. The events we organize are an important part of who we are, what we do, and how we contribute to everyone's growth. We are building not just a team, but a community. For us, work is passion, purpose. We want to offer those who join us a different vision of work – one that brings meaning and fulfillment to every action. We want to offer our collaborators innovative, remarkable products and long-lasting partnerships. Of course, everything we have described here would not have been possible without a team that believes in these nuances and adopts them of their own free will. Everything we do, we do for people – for the community. For the team we are and the team we will become. We are always guided by values such as trust, unity, resilience, excellence, and service. ?? As I reach the midpoint of my Internship at Axians Portugal, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey it has been so far. This experience has been incredible, and I owe a great deal of gratitude to everyone at Axians who has contributed to my growth, both directly and indirectly. ? My role has allowed me to dive into the multifaceted world of Human Resources, giving me the chance to engage with various aspects of personnel development. From specialized and entry-level recruitment to employee training and development, each task has enriched my understanding and passion for this field. Also, assisting with business support duties has provided me with a comprehensive view of the bureaucratic nuances involved in employee and service provider management. ? ?Every day brings a wealth of new information and experiences, constantly feeding my eagerness to learn and grow within this vibrant industry. This internship has not only aligned perfectly with my expectations but has also contributed significantly to my personal development. The opportunity to be part of such a dynamic team and industry has been deeply fulfilling. ? ?? Looking forward, I am excited to gain even more autonomy and knowledge in the second half of my internship. I am particularly eager to participate in more events and further immerse myself in the innovative projects at Axians Portugal. ? This internship has also been a profound journey of self-discovery, allowing me to confront both my strengths and weaknesses head-on. It has laid bare my qualities and limitations, affording me a greater level of self-awareness than I have ever experienced. Acknowledging my faults and recognizing the value of my work have been crucial steps in this process. A quick look into 2024 thus far: ? As Q1 comes to a close we have spent some time reflecting on what has been accomplished thus far, but more importantly what is on the horizon to be achieved in the coming months. ? The Caliber team attended Corporate Jet Investor London in February for a two-day industry event surrounded by business aviation dealmakers and decision-makers. We had the opportunity to sit in on panel discussions with some of the biggest names in our business, talking about current hot topics and what lies ahead in the aviation industry. This was the first CJI event we attended, and it exceeded all expectations. The event was so beneficial that we decided to partner with Corporate Jet Investor as one of their lead sponsors at CJI Miami in November. If you get the opportunity to attend a CJI conference, we highly recommend you take advantage as you truly cannot put yourself in a better position to connect with result-driven colleagues. ? In The Works:? ? One of Caliber’s key focal points for 2024 has been building relationships. In this small community we understand the importance of being surrounded by entities who share the same values and vision as we do. We are focused on strengthening these developing relationships throughout the year with a goal to expand our international network at EBACE Geneva. Durning the Summer of 2024, I was able to intern under Carisam Samuel Meisel. I was a General Intern that worked in multiple departments of the Company. I was able to learn a lot about the workforce juts by being there. This internship taught me more than just the ins and outs of the company—it provided valuable insights into the professional world and business dynamics that will shape my career in the future. ? 1.????Where you start off, will not be where you end: Many of my coworkers did not begin their professional journeys with their current careers in mind. Some started in entirely different industries or roles before transitioning into new areas. Yet, they carried the skills and knowledge from each previous job forward. This reinforced the importance of being open to change and staying flexible in one's career trajectory, knowing that the first job you take is only a steppingstone toward where you’ll eventually land. ? 2.????Markets will continue to change: Working for a company within the Cruise Hospitality industry, I witnessed firsthand how quickly industries can evolve. The cruise industry, in particular, is highly dynamic, with trends, regulations, and customer expectations constantly shifting. Staying informed and adaptive is critical in ensuring that businesses remain competitive. I learned that being successful in a changing market requires vigilance and a willingness to innovate continually, whether by staying up to date with the latest market trends or adjusting services to better meet customer needs. ? 3.??Accidents will happen in business: No matter how well-prepared a company is or how great their products or services are, unforeseen events will occur. This could range from delays in shipments to disruptions caused by weather conditions, relevant in an industry like cruise hospitality. While businesses can control certain aspects of operations, external factors are sometimes out of their hands. Learning to manage these unpredictable events is crucial, whether through contingency planning or simply maintaining strong communication with clients to set realistic expectations. I learned that resilience and adaptability are key traits that help organizations bounce back from setbacks. ? My internship at Carisam Samuel Meisel was a transformative experience. It gave me the chance to develop practical skills while also gaining a broader understanding of the professional world. Moving forward, these lessons will guide me as I navigate my own career path and help me remain adaptable and focused on long-term success.

?? Exciting Milestone: Internship Completed! ?? Today, I am filled with a mix of pride and gratitude as I wrap up my internship as a Business Process Management (BPM) Intern at Defne. This incredible journey has been an invaluable experience where I’ve had the chance to optimize business process flows, improve efficiency, and elevate customer experience! I had the amazing opportunity to work on exciting projects like AFAS (Airport Flight Announcement System) and MVPN (Mobile Virtual Private Network), actively contributing to their development and production stages. Along the way, I also enhanced my skills in creating flow diagrams and gained a deeper understanding of Business Process Management (BPM) principles, focusing on process optimization and operational efficiency. A massive shoutout to everyone who supported me throughout this journey: CEO Oguz Haliloglu, my amazing mentors Erhan Ermi?o?lu, Ekrem Duygu, ?mdat Sar?alio?lu - MBA, and our HR hero @Hatice Cer?it. The meaning of being yourself: a chat between an intern and a CEO ?? "Who are you?"?was the first question Gert-Jan Meppelink, Team EIFFEL CEO, asked me, a 20-something intern that recently started at Team EIFFEL, when we sat down for a conversation yesterday. Initially, I went the conventional route, talking about my academic pursuits and aspirations, of course mentioning that I’m really enjoying my internship. However, he was aiming for a very different answer. Gert-Jan stressed the importance of the little moments in our connections. "If a friend tells you about the nice plumber that fixed their shower, instead of how good their holiday was, you're doing something right." His genuine interest in others, though perceived by some as overly casual, is what makes him a standout leader to others. He compared this to sharing chocolates with coworkers - not everyone is into chocolate, but by sharing, you've connected to those who are. ?? One thing became crystal clear to me during our conversation, Gert-Jan truly knows who he is. He knows his strengths, but also when he needs someone else to get the best result. "Accepting who you are is key. That's how your authenticity becomes your strength." ?? He shared stories about being told at several jobs he "didn't fit in". While this might have discouraged others, to Gert-Jan it was validation. "No one can replicate who I am, which means no one can fulfil my role quite like I can." The meaning of all this? ?? Authenticity goes much further than originality; it's the recognition and celebration of our uniqueness, and the understanding that our individuality is incredibly valuable. ?? So, who am I? Here's my newfound answer: I am a bit of a try-hard, fuelled by many passions, but mostly by my friends and family. I care very deeply, though I can have a hard time showing it. And while I like fitting in as much as the next person, I will do so only if that means I can be myself.
