The Research and Development (R&D) Center is the heart of innovation and technological progress in any modern company.?It is here that ideas are born that have the potential to disrupt industries and transform bold ideas into tangible solutions. The product development process at the R&D Center begins with identifying problems and needs that can be solved or addressed by new solutions.?We then develop concepts,?which often materialize in the form of 3D prints,?to begin work on the actual physical form.?The next step is to produce prototypes (samples),?which are tested and then modified.?During this time,?we conduct various research and analysis to ensure that the product meets quality requirements and is ready for market launch. ??CASE STUDY?? MULTIMESH (UK) LTD, with over 30 years of experience and a 30,000 square-foot facility, manufactures wire mesh products using a blend of craftsmanship and technology. To improve efficiency, Multimesh sought to automate their #jig manufacturing process, currently undertaken through a manual process by skilled workers. Collaborating with the Horizon's team at VEC (Virtual Engineering Centre), Multimesh were able to effectively analyse existing processes and identify equipment needs. The VEC suggested implementing parametric #CAD for developing digital models of the jigs, incorporating a table-based input system for design specifications, and utilising #Fusion360 software to standardise processes. A customised workshop assisted Multimesh in evaluating #CNC saw options for enhanced safety and functionality in the future as they look toward further investment and innovation. Since you can't always rely on the weather gods during German summers and with cool or rainy days being rather common even in the sunny months, sophisticated technological solutions are needed to offer freezing soccer fans an unforgettable experience. And this is exactly what our colleagues at Fraunhofer ENAS are working on: They are researching ???????????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????????????? that enable the ?????????????????????????????????? ???? ???? ??????????????, for example. ? By using robot-guided inkjet printing, our researchers can print objects regardless of their position and location in space. For example, functional elements such as ?????????????? ???????????????????? could be printed on 3D objects, such as stadium seats (as shown in our picture). This way, freezing during sporting events, especially during the cold season, could be a thing of the past. By integrating RFID transponders, occupied seats can be precisely identified, ensuring that only those seats in use are actually heated in order to avoid energy losses. These are great prospects for those days on which the weather doesn’t quite play along – as today at the start of the European Championship. ?
