Content is a commitment. Messaging is a commitment. In order for either to pay off, consistency is key. Communication in business is really no different than any other relationship. Consistency in your action and your words builds trust. Your customers need to know they can rely on you in word and deed. This looks like choosing a schedule that is realistic and sustainable. If you can only post twice a week, then commit to it, and show up twice a week. If you can't do social, but can do a blog, commit to a schedule for your blog. If podcasting is doable, but video is out of the question, then be consistent with your podcast. Choose a way to commit to showing up that is honest and authentic to you and your audience. The more realistic it is for you, the genuine your content will be which will attract the right audience. But not if you're inconsistent or unavailable. Unfortunately, business isn't "build it and they will come." Once you've committed to an attainable schedule, commit to your message. Marketing is ultimately a process of memorization. You need to be memorable to your customers, and this only happens if you are consistent in your message. You need to be who they think of when it comes to your product or service.
