My first in-person event with Chief! It was amazing - a roundtable with incredibly talented leaders focused on the most pressing issues facing CMOs and CROs today. A couple of takeaways I had: (1) get smart on the need for brand safety teams as we progress into the future, approaching an unprecedented time for brands and companies' reputation risk and (2) leverage the power of authentic connection, uplevel the support and amplification I can provide my fellow Chiefs as a start.

Last week, Brightflag surpassed last year’s total sales, with 40% of 2024 to go. I’m as confident in our company as anyone, but even I was taken aback by this achievement. How are we managing to accelerate growth by this much in a less-than-stellar economic climate? The more I pondered this question, the more I realized that the answer is our values. ? Think Long Term: Product leadership, brand leadership, and team all compound over time. There are no shortcuts. We made investments that we knew wouldn’t pay off for years, and we’re reaping the benefits now. We continue to make these kinds of long-term investments, ensuring success for many years to come. ?? Make Every Day Count: Simply put, we outexecute the competition. Every day we delay getting something done is one day more our customers have to wait, and one more opportunity for our competitors to catch up to us. Speed and agility are competitive advantages that are deeply ingrained in our culture. ?? Win and Lose Together: Can you imagine how much grief I got when I proposed that one of our values include “lose together?” The point is that no team bats 1.000; the psychological safety that comes from losing as a team is what drives all the winning. We take calculated and controlled risks to build bigger, better, and faster. ?? Embrace Authenticity: No one has a monopoly on great ideas. For example, our marketing team has ownership of events, but the idea to host a breakfast at CLOC each year (a fantastic success) came from one of our former sales reps. We work hard to ensure everyone has a voice, no matter how large we become. #legaltech #values #leadership
