In the contemporary media landscape, the notion of objective truth has become increasingly elusive. The narratives presented by various media outlets are often shaped not by an unwavering commitment to factual accuracy, but rather by the interests and agendas of those who hold power. This raises a critical question: To what extent can the public trust the media to convey the truth? The proximity of any given media outlet to the "truth" is frequently determined by the influence of those who occupy positions of authority and control the flow of information. Whether driven by political affiliations, economic interests, or social pressures, media organizations may prioritize narratives that align with the perspectives of their benefactors or ideological allies. This reality casts a shadow of doubt over the integrity of the information that is disseminated to the public, leading to a profound erosion of trust. It is, therefore, a cause for lamentation that the pursuit of truth in journalism has been compromised by external influences. The media, once envisioned as the fourth estate, intended to hold power to account and inform the public, now finds itself entangled in a complex web of competing interests. In such a climate, it becomes increasingly difficult for the public to discern fact from propaganda, leaving society vulnerable to manipulation and misinformation. This state of affairs underscores the urgent need for a more critical engagement with the media, where the audience must navigate the murky waters of information with a heightened sense of skepticism and discernment. The challenge lies in fostering a media environment that is not only transparent and accountable but also genuinely committed to the pursuit of truth, free from the undue influence of those who wield power. I recently came across this simple, short, and historically accurate film which offers a lens on how Britain’s actions in Palestine more than a century ago continue to affect the situation in the Middle East including the current war between Israel and Palestine. Though this period may seem distant, its legacy still resonates, affecting not only the lives of Palestinians and Israelis, but the entire region. I do not believe that the situation is straight forward, and it is certainly not easily resolved. While many look to a two-state solution, this alone is not, I believe, enough to secure lasting peace. Equal rights, security and justice must surely be ensured for all—Palestinians and Israelis alike in order for this to happen. The road to peace demands recognition of our shared humanity, of the need to protect fundamental human rights and follow the international rule of law: and an understanding that we have more in common than that which divides us. This is a personal reflection on a complex issue, one that urges us to think beyond borders and past injustices, to a future where peace is possible not through division, but through mutual respect and shared values.

The Ben-Gurion Canal has the potential to be a powerful catalyst for regional cooperation and peace. Imagining a future where Israel and Palestine achieve a mutually agreeable solution, such as a two-state model or a union of independent states, the canal could span both territories, promoting economic interdependence and symbolizing unity between the two peoples. #RegionalCooperation #PeaceBuilding Fikir Academy for Strategic Studies

My article in THIS WEEK IN PALESTINE on "Gaza and the Revolution of the Global South": Now that global dynamics are working in favor of Palestinians, it is time for the Palestinian struggle to return to the embrace of the Global South, where common histories will always serve as a foundation for meaningful solidarity. The critical mass for meaningful solidarity has finally been achieved, signaling that, once more, Palestinians have imposed themselves as the guardians of their own struggle, standing proudly at the front line of the global struggle for freedom and justice.

?? ‘Genocide is only possible because of impunity’: Palestine’s UN envoy | Al Jazeera English ?? Description: Riyad Mansour, Palestine’s envoy to the UN, has demanded the Security Council act to protect civilians enduring more than a year of Apartheid Israel’s attacks. “Israel has crossed every red line, broken every rule, defied every prohibition. When is enough really enough? When are you going to act? You are the Security Council. You have to reach every single one who is in pain among the Palestinians. That is your duty,” the envoy said at a council meeting. Besides the 43,000 people killed in Gaza, he noted 100,000 Palestinian have been maimed in Israeli strikes, many with amputations and other permanent disabilities. Two million Palestinians are displaced with “people enduring unspeakable pain”, Mansour said. “By ending impunity and ensuring accountability, by finally bringing to an end this terrible injustice, let your actions match your words. Stop this genocide or forever remain silent.” #WARonHUMANITY #anarchy #anarchism #freedom #socialism #multilateralism #multipolarity #diplomacy #usa #israel #apartheidisrael #palestine #lebanon #iran #russia #syria ___ We are all on a collective journey towards Decolonization, De-Globalization, and the dissolvement of all forms of capitalized state wealth consolidation { individual and collective corruption }.
